You will only be getting around 70cc of fluid out each injection. Just a good squirt. Have you tried to actually run it yet ?
Also you will not have any pressure until you have some resistance like from the injectors.
Honestly any good (non-synthetic) engine will work here. The 5W-30 is just extremely common to find now a days.
Your only going to be using this oil for just a very short time. Five to ten hours max. Then drain it out, replace the oil and filter and run it about another ten hours. Then you...
The last hone job looks pretty good. Your up and down speed was to fast though. The crosshatch pattern should be more pronounced, more widely spaced. You should have used more hone oil also. Still all in all a pretty good job ! Put some pistons in there and run it !
OK. I thought they where some steel soldiers guys. I'm too old to have watched the muppets. Or Sesame Street or whatever the show they where on. I watched "Howdy Doody" and the original "mousekateers" . Also the original "Flash Gordan" shows where great !
Look at my thread on fording kit for the deuce. I did this on mine and it works. You only need about 3PSI of pressure for 6 ft of water pressure. The problem is finding a regulator and pressure gauge that goes that low.
The seals on the Chevy truck are not meant to keep "out" anything. They are made to keep fluids in. The military seals for the M38 and other military vehicles had two lip seals on them. They where a true double seal. You can try and install two seals on the transfer-case (one facing "in" the...
Considering the military replaces the tires on a "time in use" and not mileage rate they never come close to being worn down. I have talked with a the main tire guy here in Washington (won the tire bid for the next year) and he gets "used" tires from the military that are brand new ! Still with...
There is no way to install any connectors on my wires. In fact I have to squish them together (elongate them) to make them fit in the slots. This has worked well for almost a decade now.
Of course you still must check them on a regular basis. Something which I fell down on doing.
Again I must say to take your engine to a machine shop to get them bored out. Never use a hone for this. They are not made for this type of job. The only time I would use a hone to bore out a cylinder is if it's the apocalypse and I must get this engine running to save my family and friends...
I think part of the original problem was my transmission was low on oil before I bought it. I have no previous history of how the truck was maintained.
That is the biggest thing to worry about in all our trucks. We don't know how it was maintained. Mine was bought straight from the military...
OK Guy, are you going to be busting my "brass nuts" now ! I purposely use solid copper cable with conductive grease on them. No connections to "come loose" or "unsolder" on me. This is how those brass nuts where meant to be used. I have been playing around with stuff in the power box. Taking it...
Who ever said "lap the valves until it covers the seat" ? I sure did not. You only lap the valves until you get a solid contact around the valve face.
What you said about the only reason to "lap" the valves was for valve cooling was incorrect. It has nothing to do with valve cooling. It has...
You should never use a hone to fit over-size pistons. Always take it to a machine shop to do this kind of work. There is no way you can make perfectly straight holes with a hone. Your just asking for trouble doing that.
You forgot one important thing. Behind that 12 point bolt is a "fuel delivery valve" . Yours is missing. If you try and install that Hydraulic head it will not work.
Beyond that pretty good video !
