    Third's Build Discussion

. Agreed and the bumper strip poster earlier could indeed cause the habitat to move around.

    700R4 success, I think.

. Well... At least you can solder really well. Sucks that it broke but at least you could fix it.

M-817 Greasing steering knuckle axle joint

. Adding grease to the steering knuckles is by way of a Zerk fitting on a block of metal held in place with 4 bolts. Grease fitting is in the middle of that plate on above the boots. Regular grease will make you (your wallet) and your truck happy. Nice rubber boots will keep the grease inside...

    MUTT question

. We have a couple of members here that create "sticker sets" or "stencil sets" for jeeps and trucks. ePay is also loaded up with sets of stickers for former military vehicles.

    MUTT question

. I understand that the radio might have been a RT-524 or a R-442. To be honest, that is just from reading that I have done on this site. Hopefully @SCSG-G4 can give more technically correct answers.

Going to hook at my first HMMWV Today!

. The key is that "sitting around doing nothing" is actually harder on a vehicle than being driven daily. Almost like people. If you sit around and don't get up and move around - eventually you will grunt and groan when you try to stand up. And the longer you do that the worse it gets...

    MUTT question

. It seems that a lot of radio devices are installed at the unit level. I don't know that there is a specific side of the truck (vehicle) for the antenna to be installed on. I can say that most of the trucks that I have seen with whips are on the back right.

    MUTT question

. Welcome to the Outfit! We have the TM's (Technical Manuals) for the MUTT available as a free download. Don't hesitate to spend a little time reading. Especially the -10 version that is similar to the owner's manual in a civilian vehicle. I'm sure it has words of warning about safety in...

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

. I have to agree with @Sharecropper ... Heck of a good write-up @Barrman ! It they have anything at all that will solve the problem - just based on being able to talk to the guy you talked to 5 years ago - I would be willing to spend more money there!

    Dryer constantly purging

. Have you tried pushing the palm of your hand onto the "exit" of the purge under (on the bottom) of the air dryer? Often times due to lack of maintenance or just general crud in the airlines - the little rubber flapper that opens and closes will get stuck open. Your palm on the exit will often...

    Warren hydraulic winch

. Agreed. The only reason would be when the cable gets old and rusty and starts to "shape" itself to the drum. Maybe. Mine spools on and off easily and rolls nicely - filling up the drum and starts to fill in the third or fourth row etc

    Third's Build Discussion

. I dunno. If you happen to scrape a piece of stained wood - a little stain will fix it like new. Paint on the other hand will be a lot more trouble...

    700R4 success, I think.

. Nice! Fuses to protect... Definitely helps when smoke wants to escape :) Nice looking gauge panel too.

    Rear axle seal leak

. Yes Indeed!! Righty Tighty only works on the RIGHT side of the truck @kenn ! Also, if you have standard BUDD rims and tandems on the rear, they sometimes get seized and the outer and inner lugs will spin off together. Lots of penetrating oil will help separate them - or torch heat.
