That thread will tell you the LAST unit your truck was assigned to. It could have been assigned to dozens of units before that and been deployed all over the globe in any conflict or base location since it was made.
Sounds like the common 60 amp alternator runaway voltage failure. Burns up the gauges. See what your system voltage is engine running and off and report back.
Just reading up on this myself, the mfgr standard lubrication interval for wedge brake components is 160000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. Use NLGI grade 1 grease.

The bow corners are the same as modern deuce/5 ton. The top wood curved sections are available from JATONKA35.COM, same as M135 or M34. So are the wood staves. Troop seats are similar, but not the same as M35A2.
Good to know. You are saying the little yellow terminal on the 200 amp HMMWV alt (intended to power the 4L80E brain) has enough azz to run all the 12 volt loads on a FMTV? Thats a lot of amps when you figure lights and heater fan.
It is a breather, look for a small poly line that should be attached there. I would reconnect the line, refill the hub, clean the oil up, and go for a ride. Most likely the oil is coming from the seal.
Nate has a M1078A1, and those switches in the battery box area are unique to the A1's and not covered in the basic M1078 manual series. The A1's technical manuals are only available electronically to the military.
Yup that switch is bad, did not like being submerged. Get the part number off the label on it and Google it and see what you come up with. Should be a commercial part available from truck supply sources in Houston.
