    Found a tank................

I would think it would have to have tracks on the whole side even though you can see it didn't. How else would you steer it? Is that the very first skid steer? All wheels would have to be connected on each side. Rick

    Dangerous Trailer Loading

I hear a lot of bashing but did anyone ever consider that just maybe, due to our great governments financial fiasco, That the owner of that rig may have lost everything but what you see there? I am not standing up for what he is doing but desperate people do desperate things. What would you do...

HELP!!! M1009 won't start AFTER replacing starter...

If the batteries come up good the do a voltage drop test on the cables. Also check the engine ground. If the engine ground is dirty or loose then all of the return voltage will be trying to go through linkages and cables not associated with current flow. Rick

Change a tire in the woods jack recommendations

You hit the nail right on the head! I have been using a hi lift for 30 plus years and I have used it to extract myself from mud and rocks, properly rigged it is no big deal. The climbing pins are the number one reason for getting hurt if you do not pay attention to them. They get bent if the...

    Broken starter bolts

If you are going to run that 12 volt starter on 24 volts then stock up on flywheels! It will fail to engage 60% of the time and chew the teeth right off. The starter should have a stud of of the back and the truck is either 10mX1.25 or 3/8x16. I don't remember if they are metric or not, I...

    Motor let loose this AM!

So what you are saying is you put 85% alcohol in your fuel? Make SURE you flush all of that out, up to and INCLUDING the injectors. Pull the glow plugs and after bleeding good fuel all the way to the pump crank it in 10 second spurts until you have clean fuel coming out of the return line. Then...

    Motor let loose this AM!

That balancer is not bad, they all look like that after a few years. When the rubber swells and push out of the recess that is when it is time. Doing it ahead of time as you did is insurance though so no harm done. Rick

Headlights not working, all others are.

As long as the military light switch is in the right position then it could be a headlight switch. Check your high beam switch, that is another problem area. Do the turn signals work? If not then look under the dash near the bottom of the steering column and see if the wire harness has been...

    Motor let loose this AM!

The usuall failure is the rubber ring, it will degrade and allow the outer metal balancer to move in relation to the inner therfore changing the balance point. This is usually an age thinge and not really a defect. In your case I think there was more going on there. I would guess that at some...

    At war with my neighbors...

Might as well let this one die. The OP did not get the answers or support that he was looking for and has not returned. I was on the other side of the fence for two long years, I had the loud, obnoxious neighbors that partied all night and went out of their way to antagonize me. Believe me, it...

    At war with my neighbors...

If you read the Assn. rules you might find that you will be homeless if you push it. And be careful with that geriatric title! Not all of us are youngsters. Remember that a lot of those "geriatrics" fought for your right to be obnoxious. Rick

    Looking 4 gears

I will take ONE set of gears for 300.00! Oh, I think that is what you meant. As was said you have to do both ends. A built 700R4 is every bit as strong as a 400. The rebuild kits for a 700R4 are fairly cheap also. Rick

    Ft.Drum, NY

Doghead, I did a little searching and found this. Cemetery Etiquette - IACP, Inc. It makes no mention of hats so maybe I was told wrong................ I will still remove my hat. Just who I am. Rick

    Ft.Drum, NY

Looks like a fantastic time. The one thing I see, I was always told to remove my hat, cover, helmet when in a cemetery as a sign of respect. Still do and always will. Rick

And yes there will be sparks from the cables when they touch. No real harm but just letting you know. Rick

002A Ran for 1/2 hour (exersise) today then won't start???

As Carl said, Mine don't open for close to 20 minutes and then only a hair. If the starter is clicking then power is getting to it but it is not going through the contacts in the solenoid or the brushes are worn in the starter. If I remember correctly you have done some serious cranking on this...

    IP Pump replacement

That is some of the best advise ever. Go through it several times in your mind until you are comfortable with it. That goes for any project automotive or otherwise. Rick
