OK, first lets all get on the same page. What I see is the "spill holes" on the plunger are higher on the LDS and lower on the LDT plunger. Do we all agree on this ? If that is so then according to the TM when the spill hole clears the edge it drops all fuel and even though the plunger is still...
If when the transmission is placed in Park it holds the truck then yes your correct. There would be no gear damage.
Have you had a chance to check the main pressure ?
OK, first off Stan the shifter linkage is a metal rod that when put in park physically contacts the side of the case and pushes a "pawl" into the park gear which is solidly mounted to the output shaft. So there is no fluid pressure involved at all in "Park" in a TH400 or any other automatic...
The openings would change the timing slightly. Yes the injection pump cam determines the "initial" timing but the valving or openings fine tune it. Just like a distributer on a gas engine. The initial timing is set with the distributer to cam relationship but the weights and springs fine tune...
Nothing that some sand-blasting cannot fix ! If I had a large enough shop and more money I would love a project like this ! Totally dismantle the truck, even remove the old frame rivets and sand-blast everything ! Have all the frame pieces hot dipped galvanized and everything else powder coated...
The definition of "Bobbing" is shortening is in bobbing the tail of a dog. I personally like the look of a full length Deuce with just the front and rear differentials. I know the military played with this idea. It would give you better mileage and also handle better on turns as you will not...
So OK there might be a few people in this whole nation who might want this unit, but really how many people are going to spend the money to get less then half of a generator (no engine or control panel) . I suppose if your already rebuilding one for a total restoration you could use some parts...
In all honesty, what's the scrap value ? Since it cannot be sold as a working military generator anymore it no longer has any "Historic" value going for it any more. Also it will have to be totally dissembled and repaired to operate again. That costs a ton of money and time for something in this...
That's why I have mounted grounding studs along the frame now. I take a stainless steel 3/8" bolt 3" long and grind off the paint of the frame after drilling a 3/8" hole. Then using a heavy duty stainless steel washer and dialectric grease I mount this bolt. Then I can install about 8 electrical...
I have personally seen and studies have proven it out, that American workers are the most industrious and hardest working employees on the planet ! We out-perform any workforce in the world ! It goes back to our Judeo/Christian values. It's just that our cost of living is so high in America we...
I just checked this "Ratchet Helper" out. It is only good for 500ft Ibs and made out of aluminum. You can not use an impact gun or even an electric gun on this unit, as it will not handle that kind of torque. I would stay away from any multiplier that is made from aluminum or cast-iron.
Remember those "Geared Lug Wrenches" are not that strong and are not for commercial use. I bought one when they first came out. Payed $150.00 for it ! Now you can buy them for $50.00 . I took mine apart to see how it was made and it is really cheap quality. It will do the job just be careful...
Boy I sure know about that knee bending stuff ! That is the knee that was replaced and it is a pain to clear that web support
on the door. If I knew I could cut it out without weakening the structure I would do it in a heart beat !
