Well if momma's happy then your golden ! I too hate the traffic here. We are the fourth worst in the nation now ! Whoppie !
Now that's something to be proud of ! (sarcasm) .
Thanks to all for your recovery ideas. Looking back, it was an easy fix to get out. But that is hindsight.
Now you have your own extreme 4X4 story to tell ! That in itself is worth the price of admission !
Let the fluid settle over night and check it in the morning. Add just to the cold line and run it. You can hold the steering against the stops for several seconds. That opens the bypass and helps bleed out the fluid. Just don't over do it. A few times is all I would do. Then just drive it for...
After any water crossing you must drain all the differentials, transfer-case, transmission and engine oil. Then take the wheels apart and check the brakes and wheel bearings. That's pretty much it.
Well I guess I'll have to take mine apart and see for myself. I bought two LDS and two LDT pumps last year and have been planning on rebuilding them some time this winter. I've just been racing to get all my other outside projects done before winter sets in. I'm still planning on the "Great...
I've actually gotten some severe burns from working on differentials that just came off the freeway. When I worked at IHC in Tukwila it was located right at the off-ramp of I-5 . The truckers would get off the road and come in for a quick check-up and oil change and sometimes a complete gear...
I agree here with cattlerepairman. Now is the time to do the conversion. About starting in second, it really doesn't' hurt anything unless your really slipping the clutch. Then your just toasting your clutch and adding strain to the drivetrain.
All the GM vehicles that have the Hydro-boost are a royal pain to bleed out all the air. Don't be surprised if it takes several days to a week of driving until all the air is bled out.
That is caused by bad oil. You need a quality oil especially on this gear as it is running against the shaft all the time "except" when it is in 2nd gear. I would "not" use the 40W oil. Get a good 50W gear rated oil or even higher since your in a hot climate. Don't scrimp on the oil ! Not unless...
So then there is no difference in the amount or length of time the fuel is spraying. Hmmmmm. Then what is the difference in the LSD vrs the LDT injection pump then ?
