Gary, I am pretty sure it is the injection pump but I am going to rule out the easy stuff first. It is raining here today so I will not get anything done on it today. It does drop both cylinders at times. Being a long time mechanic I know the sound of no compression on cranking and I don't have...
It a diesel?!!!!! Dang, that would explain that funky smell in the gas.
Sorry Gimp, That is the best way to describe the sound I am getting.
Rosco, that is where I m headed also is the sticking valves, or a valve too tight and when it warms up it stays open a hair. When it stays open...
Gimpy, I will watch the rod on next startup but since it does smooth out and run real nice for about 20 seconds and starts the cycle all over again I would not think the rod is the problem. I have never been a fan of ATF in fuel, ATF has a lot of additives that will foul and wear injectors, it...
Did a search and could not come up with anything so here is my problem. MEP-002, starts and runs on one cylinder with other kicking in once in a while. Will eventually smooth out and run good only to almost die like a loss of fuel. Will not usually die but struggles to come back, spark knock for...
I watched a guy lose most of his finger this way. He was wearing gloves but the cable had a snag in it and caught the glove. They were tight gloves so he could not get out of it in time and his finger went between the fairlead and the cable. In a morbid way he was lucky there was a lot of...
If you running fuel back to the tank then the pump and filters are good and the issue is with the injection pump. Are you getting white smoke while cranking? If not then you are not feeding feul into the cylinder. Is the shutoff relay good and the shutoff solenoid releasing? That epoxy will not...
I am going to jump in here just to se where this goes. I do not have a CTIS but I have heard all the complaints and these are some very good questions.

51R is going to be about as close as you are going to get. They are a little shorter in length and a little narrower. I put a small strip of plywood lengthwise along the non terminal side to catch the tie down.

One thing on the clutch issue, I know it is a sore spot here but I consider this a safety issue. If you reach in and start it and it is in gear it will start and go. If it takes you by surprise it could run you over, that just happened around here recently. Modern vehicles have safety switches...
The part about the pegged oil pressure and the clean oil keeps haunting me. I am thinking a main oil passage or filter was clogged and not circulating any oil through the motor. Sparks out the bottom could be a failed engine but it would be REAL obvious! That sounds like clutch. I am betting...
My bad, I have never seen one in person. Unless you want it for restoration I would build a box on the trailer floor and run longer cables into the housing. I know how you feel though, you want everything correct. I am the same way usually.

51R's are 12 volts. Put them in series to get 24 volts.
They might even fit the holder, not sure on that one. My 002A uses two 51R's stock. Actually it calls for 2HN. I just used two group 24's in series. I don't have the ASK, wish I did.

Tell me what you think of this, I did a search for the username and this was all that came up.
Same person?

I had a CUCV, M1008, that had lockers front and back. Very seldom had to have the front locked in four wheel drive in but it would turn fine as long as you were not powering into the turn. When not locked into four wheel drive but with the hubs locked it was like any other vehicle, no problems...
Supply and demand translated, more profit for the oil companies = more kickback for the politicians.
Wait until the food and clothing prices start jumping up because of higher fuel prices. People don't think about that.
I have been a member here for roughly 6 years but I was helping people retrieve trucks for ten years before that. I don't ask for any more than what I have to put out of my pocket. I am not well to do, far from it, so I know what it is like to have an OD addiction and sometimes you have to jump...
I am pretty sure the bumper is a standard bumper for a blazer and has been cut out for the lights and clevis brackets. Granted it is easier to use one already prepared. I would agree on OEM parts but I think that quarter could be repaired. I have repaired much worse then that, and with little to...
