    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

At the point I bought this I didn't know anyone out of state but 71DeuceAK here on SS. He tipped me off about the M813 being for sale and for that favor I routed my drive cross country at who knows how many miles added to make sure I stopped by his place to give a personal thank you.

    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

Since purchasing the BOT I have been considering all my options on what is most important to upgrade. My list is currently as follows. You don't have to read all this.... Mostly just my thoughts... cliff notes :TIRES, TRACTION, WINCH, POWER, SAFETY, 1. Get new tires mounted. This will require...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Put the BOT into the Veterans Alliance 6th Annual Car Show and won the Veterans Alliance Choice award! All those nice classic rides and the MV takes top honors! I felt very proud to donate the the cause. Held at the Wheeler Farm Historic Site in Murray UT.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

After an excellent dinner I started the process of busting my new 16.00s off the MRAP rims. Have 6 to go. I am crossing my fingers that my HEMTT rims will work with these run flats. I want to be running beads or anti-freeze in these babies so I don't have the BUNNIES that seem to live in the...

NHC 250 Turbo Conversion in M923

If you want to send me a PM with a price on what you want I will start counting my pennies.. :)

NHC 250 Turbo Conversion in M923

With exhaust connections It appears these sections are 5" and are a "standard" off the shelf S sweep and 90 degree sweep. This is a muffler delete. Any input on how the exhaust side is done here? Is it better to use a flexible section to remove vibration stress from the turbo/exhaust...

NHC 250 Turbo Conversion in M923

Your comment: "Turbo also looks to be from N14"... Does this N14 turbo have a part #? Or model name? as either would help. From what I understanding from the above comments is the N14 "stock" turbo has a quicker spool when used with the N14 smaller port manifold, which I presume will help...

NHC 250 Turbo Conversion in M923

Pic from post https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/lets-see-your-5-ton.57015/page-4#lg=post-662040&slide=1 I have a few questions: 1. From this JIMK the owner of this pic has the EGT pyro on the exhaust side of the turbo. Others have it in the exhaust manifold pre-turbo. What are the benefits...

NHC 250 Turbo Conversion in M923

On the parts you pulled from a BC you listed: 1. Manifold, (I am guessing intake? or is this exhaust?) 2. Turbo...? Which one? HT3B? 3. Aftercooler... 4. Dual fuel mod 5. Pyro 6. Boost Gauge 7. Rail Fuel Pressure Gauge 8.? did you you change the heads? injectors? did you do Jakes? etc... Thanks...

    M939A1 NHC Turbo

Simp, with the primer, how can I test if it is leaking? I live in a winter cold climate. Is the primer not needed in a cold start? Is there a thread for "primer delete steps". Would it be better to add an ether injection for cold starts? This is for an M813.

M809 M54 M35 Cab Roll Cage, Roll Bar

I like it. :) Any idea what tubing size they used? 2" and some 1 3/4? x .120 or .250?

M809 M54 M35 Cab Roll Cage, Roll Bar

For my M813 I would need to move the prime pressure gauge.. maybe... and the hand throttle on the drivers side and the air cleaner "your doing it wrong" gauge on the passenger side. I would also need to move my parking brake pull handle from the drivers left floor to another location. Unlike the...

M809 M54 M35 Cab Roll Cage, Roll Bar

I read through the Dakar spec sheet and they only have some basic minimums seen here. They did have an extensive structural build list which since they are building race rides are all full cages with gussets, bolted and plated to body parts etc... as I believe we are all in agreement would be...

NHC 250 Turbo Conversion in M923

SIMP, Can you make a bullet list of the modifications you would do (short of drilling oil journals LOL) to a 250 small cam to hop it up. From what I have seen you post in various threads here: 1. Fuel button, 20 or lower to 16 to get fuel at 200-220 measured not guessing. 2. Dual fuel mod. 3...

M809 M54 M35 Cab Roll Cage, Roll Bar

For my M813 that has the stock bed, which I see as amazingly tuff, i.e. no drop sides, with fully welded gussets in all the right places, could be used to mount at least to the front of it a hoop like roll bar similar to what an 80's pick up truck might have had. Concept: If I made a hoop that...

M809 M54 M35 Cab Roll Cage, Roll Bar

Anyone out there ever put a Roll Cage into an M809 M54 M35? These models share the same cab. Anyone ever done it in cab? Behind the cab roll bar? Frame mounted? What DOM tubing would anyone suggest to handle a full tumble roll with a 5 ton? I am leaning to be more practical to just mount a...

    M925 Winch Oil Capacity

I will need to fill my rebuilt winch up when I get around to buying some more parts to mount it. 2.6 pints per side? Will 75-140 or 75-90 be better?

5 ton rear axle seal fix procedure
