What did you do to your deuce this week?

I decided to install some LED lights I had bought awhile ago. I put them so I could work on the truck at night and have them move out of the way when not in use. The reason I put the ones on the side of the box was in case I needed to replace a tire at night. This way I could see what I'm doing...

    Metro Detroit Mechanic Needed

If you go after the truck like a mad man then it can be a great running rig for years to come. I almost totally gutted mine. Almost a total frame off. I painted everything with quality primer and then a quality top coat except the outside panels. I kept the stock tan paint. I found the biggest...

    Air dryer service

I would buy a Bendix "AD-9" dryer and install it. The parts are 1/3 the cost of the military unit and available everywhere.

    Owner Survey---Fuel Additives

I still remember draining differentials that had "whale" oil in the gear oil. The smell is something you never forget even though you try !

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

How hard of a ride do you want ? The stock springs will give a pretty hard ride but add an extra leaf and it will be really hard ! Now if you have a heavy plow up front then go with the 4 leaf springs. If not I would stick with the stock 3 leaf spring set-up.

1952 M35 Gasser repair and build

I think I know what your problem is. Due to your faulty wiring your loosing voltage to the coil. If you run a designated wire from the batteries just for the coil I think your engine dying problem will be solved. At least until you can fix your wiring harness.

    Stuck lug nuts

It's called a "Pork Chop" wrench and almost everyone here has several. I actually own four of them.

    Mep 003 Fuel Pumps

Yes, all the Facet pumps can be installed in series. Personally I don't use the suppressors as they are just another failure point and not needed on our generators.

    Owner Survey---Fuel Additives

"Opti-Lube XPD" is still the best. Yes Bio-diesel will clean better but it has several issues, while Opti-Lube has no issues.

    Stuck lug nuts

I agree. A Good Torque Multiplier will cost at least $300.00 on eBay. A quality one will start at $800.00 . These cheap ones from China are OK for real light us ( I know as I own one) but really cannot handle anything like he had.

    MEP-531 flashing

Well I went to start-up my generators a few days ago and found my MEP-531 would not produce any power ! After troubleshooting it for awhile I found it had lost it's magnetism and needed to be re-flashed. So I got out my 1/2" electric drill and plugged it in to my running generator. With the...

    Mep 003 Fuel Pumps

If you look on eBay you will find these pumps for sell all the time. Usually under $100.00 . I was able to find several NOS ones for under $50.00 just a few months ago. Or you can pay full price of $200.00 at the dealer.

    Quieter, Better MPG 6.2 Diesel.

Seafoam is not he best product either. Just because NAPA sells it does not make it good. Look it up on the web. There are plenty of studies that show who has the best fuel additive for diesels. I use "Opti-Lube XPD" . It was the best product for cleaning next to straight "Bio-diesel" without the...

    Quieter, Better MPG 6.2 Diesel.

I just use a good quality synthetic oil and a "ZDDP" additive for my non-roller cam engines. All the other stuff has proven to be useless. There was one product I fell for in the late 1970's that had Teflon in it. It worked great for awhile until the Teflon wore off and blocked the oil passages...

Oil seal mod. for 3053 input shaft

Hey Brian, have you cut one of your modified input housings to see if there is enough material there yet ? I was hoping you would do that so we could all see and put this question to rest. Then we can start buying your input housings !

    Rockwell pinion bearing help please

A little confused here. Are you talking about the front differential axles ? Or are you talking about the "pinion" shaft bearings on the differential ? A picture would go a long way in helping diagnose the problem.

Are all the fuel tank vent lines clear ? In this warm weather even diesel fuel can start to vapor lock.

    LDT 465 1C engine noise

Thanks for the update "jacklegjim" . So many times the original poster finds the problem and doesn't get back with the community to let us all know what happened.
