Recall that the 4L80E is 2" longer than the TH400, so driveshaft modifications or replacement is inevitable. Has someone published how to manufacture a stand alone harness from the 4L80E to the military controller?
I have a pair of steel ramps made exactly how you describe, strong enough for 15k. I HATE THEM. Way to heavy, I can just barely pick up one end and drag them around. Herniated disc waiting to happen. Drop the coin and get aluminum ramps. Reorider has some nice ones, same as OTR truckers...
Picture #5 is the hole for the crank position sensor used with the evil DS4 computer IP. Thanks for the pic, now I know this engine will work for me. Sure is a good looking engine. The paint marks, bar code sticker, and "506" says US made to me anyway.
Those are difficult to find on the loose. Post up a want ad here, and keep an eye open for fire departments and expo conversion dudes that may have these as leftovers from projects.
What is confusing about this statement on GP's terms and conditions:

Rich did your GEP come in, need to come see if there is a hole in the front timing cover for the crank position sensor used in the civi applications with computer engine management.
Take a look at mkcoen's M1078 build thread. About halfway through, you can follow the exact same diagnostics you are about to undertake. Also posted is the WTEC diagnostic/repair manual.
