A cheap and easy way to mount a winch to a CUCV

Would need additional bracing for side loading for sure. Great idea for straight pulls only.

    M1008 with TOW System

You’ll get attention that’s for sure. Dang TOW wires were always a problem for us. Can’t hardly see them and they wrap around control tubes, etc really fast. Sometimes on post flight, some guys would find remnants of TOW wire because we flew in an area that didn’t have the TOW wire hazard...

Photo of CUCV makes National News

The running joke in Army Aviation is when the last Blackhawk is retired and flown to the boneyard, the crew will be picked up in a Huey. It’s not over til it’s over.

    My resistor can't be bad!?

The lengthy explanation isn’t the issue. Not at all. The difficulty is in reading what is basically a giant run-on sentence with zero paragraphs. Do everyone a favor and break it up a bit.

    M1101/M1102 Trailer Body Panels

There is structural adhesive for aluminum that, when fully cured, is stronger than the metal itself. It’s used on aircraft. I used it to patch some holes in my S-280 shelter. Stuffs amazing and unbelievably strong. Loctite H8100 I believe. Something like that. Gets you in the ballpark...

    Turn Signal Issue

Welcome to SS Issue has been discussed many times. Suggest a search and reading. I had same issue and also a horn issue. Replaced turn signal switch with NOS GM part that I found on eBay. Solved both problems at once and lever solidly clicks and lever isn’t sloppy. The Cheap off brand...

    My resistor can't be bad!?

PLEASE use paragraphs. It’s like reading a brick. Most guys use AC60Gs here Others use the AC13Gs. Few use Bosch. Either works. I wouldn’t bother with speciality/off brands. Too many unknowns. Stay away from Wellmans. Check all your connections all the way down to the GP tab. Each and...

    M1009 Engine woes

You don’t realize how much the old starter has slowed down until you install a new/rebuilt one. Night and Day

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

I knew it was 4K!! Hard to convey the humorous tone I meant via text. Someday I’ll start on a camper build on my second M101A2. Yea.......Someday.

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

Do you mean $400 or $4K. Those wheels look good with the black theme. Nice base camp

Photo of CUCV makes National News

So what. Maybe not current like I thought, but still doing immigration duty on the border. Still very cool and still a CUCV photo on a national news story today. Billions upon billions spent for Military hardware back then and the good ole CUCV still making a difference. 2007 or...

M1009 CUCV serves on the front line of the current immigration war. I think that’s really cool.

Modified lunette hitch/draw bar on M101

I’m still kicking myself for not buying more. Both of mine were from same unit. Both from RRAD Mine didn’t even blink with 2 tons of gravel in it. Workhorses for sure!

Looks like this M1009 CUCV is still being actively used.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Oh yes! It’s still in long term storage with the other M1008A1. Those are for my daughters. It’s between them on who gets which one.

    M1101 Trailer Light Problems

The OP hasn’t chimed in since their first post. It’s probably another......post once, then they figured out the issue and never will update or even post again. Of course that helps no one.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Today I sold my my M925A2 Several reasons why, with money not on the list. I’m not getting any younger and the big parts aren’t getting any lighter. The new owner is another SS member. It’s going to a good home. I’m sad to see it go but it was time.
