That is a heck of an idea! CNC cut gasket material should be an easy job to do. We have a 5x10ft cutter that we cut signs with. Plastic, rubber, aluminum, paper, pressure sensitive vinyl... All kinds of "non steel" materials. Just a simple DXF file to feed it to the cutter.
The tough...

Seems reasonable. Heck, you could possibly use an inch of windshield space if you needed to and still be good. Guess you don't plan to fold down the glass for anything? Different truck completely, but the guy I bought my M1088 has a "console" above the window in my truck. I wouldn't have...

Ya know, sometimes when chasing a low voltage ground issue - it is worth sacrificing a piece of 14 gauge wire. Take a long piece of wire, and in this case attach the wire to one of the screws on the sending unit. Take the other end and route it directly to the battery and connect it there...

Safety Glasses or a Shield or maybe BOTH could be in order using an impact on a puller.
Thing is, we all just wanna get the job done and walking over to the bench for safety glasses is a pain...
Having both eyes though would make that trip across the room would be worth your time.

Well, gotta take advantage of being happy with fixed axle boots...
Maybe the spark and flash will be a simple fix.
A spark generally leads to something you can see, so hopefully it is obvious.

Definitely a good plan and depending on how old you are - you may never need to do anything on that part of the truck as long as you live. Excepting a spot of grease regularly
Parts #9 and #5 are worth replacing while you are down there. Replacing all those parts now will mean that when you go get the alignment, you won't find more worn pieces - and the alignment will "stick" and stay like they set it...

Love it!! That is really fantastic.
Even better hanging out with the guys at The Guard!
Hopefully you got some good comments from Stormin Norman too!
REALLY NICE pictures too!
Your photography skills are much improved.
I am impressed!

Agreed!
Long years ago, I remember having a place "in the neighborhood" that had a monster planer shed owned by a company named Abernethy Lumber. They cut the 2x10 oak planks for us to use on lowboy trailers. They also cut the wooden spacers for the frame rails when we mounted tool bodies...

I have to agree... Got a local wrecker company here in town with a couple of rotators. They are lit up like a christmas tree for sure. Impressive for sure!

Pictures can't hurt. Even a few under the dash and a few under the hood... Sounds like "you got helped" and the extra hacked wiring for add-on devices didn't help you (or so it seems).

Hi RedLegs98 and Welcome to the Outfit!
Okay, so I can say it with conviction, but you could ignore me... Whatever you do - Don't you dare scrap or sell his cute little CUCV! You can definitely list the truck in the Classifieds Section but do you really need to get rid of it? Maybe when he...

I have a blueprint scanner here at work. Max Sheet width is 35 inches wide. If that will help, I would be happy to scan whatever you have available. No Charge and I will return your originals to you...
