Guys remember, most all the parts on these trucks are standard Chevy truck parts. Nothing special about them. There are only a few items that the military had added special to them.
That is so true ! When I was building my present house I needed to make a road into here. The dozer did a good job of clearing but there where 15 stumps that it could not budge. Some where over 5ft across good old Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar. So I had a blaster come in to blow them up. My...
Speaking of aluminum bows for the M105. Does anyone know who sells them ? I have the steel ones and their shot (rusted through) .
I forgot to mention the fiberglass sides also.
Thanks guys.
Your trying to change the laws of Physics ! The electrons flow from the negative to positive plates creating the current flow. They don't change just because you reverse the charge. Not unless you actually change the polarity of the lead plates. Since they are made from different materials of...
I had a very similar situation when I was living in Seattle. My neighbor bought a 1942 Jeep and played with it for about a year. He got bored with it and then just let it sit outside. About a year later he asked me if I wanted to buy it for $200.00 . I was into Chevy trucks at the time and...
I would bet you "a dollar for donuts" that this alternator is a A0014630JA and someone has replaced the stator with the 100 amp unit. Like I said earlier, by just replacing the stator you increase your amps from 60 to 100 amps.
Your basically removing a layer of sulfated lead on the plates. By flushing it out your also removing all the old lead that has dropped off the plates and any other debris that has gotten into the battery. This will help an old battery, but for how long is the question. For all the time and...
The problem is keeping them running ! My last good one died over 15 years ago. I was clearing my sisters property and got caught on a stump on a hill. Before I could get unstuck the engine got oil starved and seized up ! Before that I would use the dozer for a day and work on it for two weeks ...
That is such a sad sight to see ! I truly regret never buying the two I had a chance to back in 1980. Now seeing this poor vehicle rotting away makes me sad all over again.
Being the owner of 3 TD6 dozers I know a little about them. Yes the military used them a lot. There was a guy down in Chehalis WA. that had bought two TD9's from the government auction back in the earlier 1970's . They where in pristine shape ! The problem was he wanted $6,000.00 for them. That...
This is the same information I was told by the "Odyssey" battery rep who taught a class at work on batteries. There is no "magic" pixy dust solution to a bad battery.
You've lost your fourth and forward clutch packs. This transmission does not have a lock-up torque converter either. I've rebuilt plenty of these units and I have said over and over that engine oil is not good in an automatic transmission ! The military doesn't use engine oil in any of their...
