    Air Brakes

Agreed and the PPV does not pop off with air it just does not open main problem. I after reading post and he said it pops off air should have corrected usage of PPV and not used PPV term like he did. Air dryer pops off and pressure relief pops off.

    Air Brakes

Getting old CRS but is not the air dryer around there too. OK if our governor was allowing 150 then the pop off valve might just be popping off. Truck air if I remember 120 psi. If it is pop off and you have 120 then maybe service the over pressure valve . Truck looks good and a good gust of...

    Air Brakes

Just wondering have you looked to see / feel where the air is popping from? If it is an over pressure of 150 then you would back down on the governor to 120. Just spit balling could it be the air dryer lower unit popping off and needs to be serviced? As for the pop off valve some can be taken...

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

My .02 again and how bout three choices I see. One new steel line correct line up ends parallel and no gap between engine and steel line after governor line tight. Two same as the first but with some kind of bracket rubber mounted. Three flex line of your choice. My steel line was rusted pretty...

    Footman loops

I will trade you all the footman loops I have for that Ferret. You can figure out the excuse to your friend that owns it. Also please fix anything that might be wrong with it first. Thanks so much and I will leave this Monday with the trailer to carry the Ferret. What a friend you are!

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

Found this interesting read. Just thought I would add. Maybe not only do we need to check for engine to steel line ends be parallel but after the governor line is tight the engine and steel lines should be touching or have no gap between them. Microsoft Word - ACTA-2014-3-21.doc (upt.ro)

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

Well I should have never said no way to test because there is if you want to measure the vibration / frequency at all rpm of the engine. Might even need to check running down the road if that might change things. Also the bracket to engine needs to be rubber mounted so a not to transmit any...

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

Now if you think vibrations are a cause we could try this. Take a piece of rubber hose the length of the straight part of the steel line. Slice it down the middle and rap it around the line. Use two hose clamps at both ends and tighten them up. Only problem is how will we test to see if our mods...

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

Yea but you have the Deuce and you know about the end fitting on the injection lines. They spin so when we tighten the lines down it does put a twist / tension on that steel line. We do have the anit vibration clamps put on and the injector lines do pulsate with the high pressure. That Cat line...

Also I like the nice gentle curve to this line. The one in the video I saw or the flex line the goes parallel to the block has to much bend it it for my liking.

That is my thought about the tension put on it on install. .02 just replace the old one with new steel or flex and not worry about it for another 30 years.

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

Yea Frank I was willing to try there line. Not only does the angle of the engine fitting need to be right but the mating edges of the engine fitting and steel line must be parallel. I know bad picture but someone might get the point. If not parallel it could put a strain on the steel line. To me...

Yea saw the truck reposted in lake Butler. Also sometimes the best trucks are ones that have been bought and gone through by members here. Also you just might be helping out with someone's marriage.

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

That engine side fitting is adjustable and correct angle can be had to mate to the steel line correctly. This way the steel line is not being put under a strain to start with. Then maybe under strain and steel line rusting from the out side well yea it is going to fail. Keep paint on it and no...

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

I decided to go with a kit that was offered with correct type hose / fittings and not worried a bit about it working fine. Also the kit I bought does not will not put a kink in the line because of the fittings. If you feel like it must be the steel line then tighten the governor side tight first...

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

Been four months since receiving full payment for the 1088. Truck was not going to leave the yard before title transfer. Yesterday the OP came up and I walked him through the DMV and out of my name. Now just waiting for the shipper to come and trailer it to Miami. Yay truck will be gone but more...

    Fuel Pump Filter

Post #39 #41 and #46 has pics so tell me again what it only catches? Also if you are having trouble with Asphaltens in your fuel it will gather in this filter. Heck just look at the paper towel. Read this thread. Anyone changed the fuel pump filter on NHC250? | SteelSoldiers
