Didn't I read earlier in this thread where the plan is to be able to lock up the converter with a combination of manual switches.

Got to admit that if I was standing there looking at a really heavy toolbox that needed to get from the ground to the truck - yep - the davit is going to do that job! We all do it. Just hopefully not standing under the load when it gets lifted. Gotta always be ready to run just in case

The metal "flapper" on the end of the vent can sometimes be cleaned with a can of Brake Parts Cleaner. Helps get rid of the sticky if that is your problem. Some vents are pushed up in a rubber tube behind the cab - to be above the water line - and that piece of tubing could have collapsed...

I was looking around to find the NSN and about all I found was an Upper Spare Tire Davit listed as PN#SS-DAK-5TM939. Couldn't seem to find the specs on it and there are some differences between newer trucks and older. The TM's don't specify a lifting capacity - but points more to its...

Well since nobody beat me to it, I have to say Welcome to the Outfit!
Glad to hear that you have your own piece of green history. That push button for the starter... Is that on the floor or is it on the dash? Maybe snap up a bunch of pictures and post them here. The guys will be more than...

Well, that is a bummer. It may just be that the batteries are shot. On the other hand, a nice slow charge, maybe checking the water level if it has that type of batteries. Might even be some corrosion on the terminals. A little testing and some investigation to be done it seems. Not awful...

Good Deal!
Down there in Florida you shouldn't be cold enough to need help from the glow plugs, but having them functional would be nice to have operational. Maybe?
When I mentioned "smoke" I was talking about the possibility of white smoke or black smoke or anything at all coming out of...

Welcome to the outfit!
You might get more answers with a city and state in your profile. Be sure to download the TM's (Technical Manuals) for your truck. That will help you understand what your truck is telling you.
I don't have a lot to offer without more information. Says that you drove...

Seems that this particular character has attempted to run over his own mother. The same red suv was what he tried to run her down with.
There were 5 killed and 48 injured at the Christmas Parade in Downtown Waukesha.
Carreer Criminal Darryl Brooks was out on a $1000 dollar bond just before...

Pretty amazing... The most exciting thing is to see the wings start to fly as it begins to lift off. Much like the B-52 where the pogo's under the wing tops fly the wing to the point of dropping them at take-off with a full load of fuel.

Best that you can do is guess - unless you spend a few bucks to have a lab analysis of the oil in your transmission. I searched (here) to see if there was anything new to be found. (No)
I found a 2005 thread about a company that I know still exists in Greensboro, North Carolina. Link for...

Silly question - but lights need to be on for the brake lights to work.
Have you done that?
The circuit does go through the turn signal (SignalStat) so that is another possibility

Yes Sir... I found out (too late) that it needs to be broken down in to three packages if I remember correctly - to come in under the weight for last year. According to my notes 16 ounces was SUPPOSED to be the magic weight for APO packages. After the fact...
I have been gathering the...

I'm not certain, but I think that picture is for artillery shells - only because the "Bourrelet" isn't on the 14 inch and 16 inch Navy guns. I would think the coloring standards for both would be the same. But I don't know that for sure.
Maybe as we keep searching, something better will...

Any idea what kind of anti-freeze are you using? Some has a more acid base to it and tends to attack soft metal and rubber seals. Mixing it too strong is another possibility too. The regular "green stuff" solves that problem...
I have had one running in a truck for more years than I can...
