I would love to have a convoy going to Alaska ! Much safer for all involved and more fun ! I was planning on the 75th anniversary of the ALCAN Hiway in the summer of 2017. My father worked on it before enlisting in the war. I was raised on stories of how desolate and cold it was there and what...
No, I've never tried them. I bought the military ones. Those look nice and bright though ! Are they 24 volt ? Or are they the 12 or 24 volt capable ones ?
Also your up late ! Or you are up early ? I'm just waiting for my pain pills to kick in so I can get some sleep.
I installed a "Bendix" AD9 Air-Dryer last year. I went with the Bendix since parts are readily available and cheaper then any other air-dryer replacement parts on the market. I also installed a 7 gallon stainless steel air tank for my wet tank. My air is nice and dry now !
I also replaced "all"...
You can never have enough ! LOL !!!
I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to mount the last 4 LED spot lights I bought. I also have lights on the back, now I need some more on the sides. I have difficulty seeing at night ever since I had cataract eye surgery. So when I go on the "Great...
Here's my truck with my new Warn 36,000 Ibs Snatch Blocks. I took them both apart and cleaned up some rust and repainted them. The factory didn't paint the insides. I also drilled out the bottom support bolt for a 3/8" grade 8 bolt. They had a 5/16" bolt there. You can also see Warn uses a...
The wipers work pretty good on our deuces as long as you maintain them. The control valve gets filled with crud so they need to be taken apart and cleaned on a yearly basis. I also replaced all my hoses with DOT 1/4" Poly air-tube. No more leaks for me.
Don't switch it over to DOT 3. DOT 5 is far superior to DOT 3 in almost everyway. There are plenty of places that sell it for a reasonable price. Peashooters thread on brakes has a number of places that sell it.
That sucks about selling your rigs ! and the IV's sound like a joy also ! Here's hoping you feel better and maybe they can get this thing under control !
What I did is I jacked-up the axle with my 20ton hydraulic jack under the differential pumpkin. Then using some good 8X8 lumber under the rear of the spring shackle I put my 6 ton jack-stands on the wood. This way the jack-stand was on the frame just behind the rear shackle. After letting down...
You mean your a "machinist" not a mechanic correct ? Which metal did you certify on for your welding certificate ? To get your "Federal" certification you must qualify on every metal you wish to be certified on. I never did get my welding certificate since each test cost $150.00 ! So for steel...
Which model is this ? Is it the Leece-Neville A0014630JA or not ? If it is then someone could have installed the 100 amp stator. On eBay there was a company selling them for $50.00 two years ago. That's when I bought mine. The problem for me is I didn't have this model alternator ! Since then I...
I mentioned this possibility awhile back. This is a very important thing to consider on any diesel engine when rebuilding. I believe he said at the time they did measure it though.
