Guess a cool test would be if someone would take the time would be set up dial indicator way then check with cut of hub. Would think as long as there is some clearance is much better than to tight. I am no good at ciphering so I just did Steve's way because I had a hub that was bad and had it...
Just by googling I find it will lower cetane and decrease lubricity being a solvent. Just opposite of what we want as we want. If you do not believe in additives designed to help raise cetane and lubricity would seem like do not add anything.
What about the new Duramax and the CP4 and the dealer telling the new owner to add good fuel additives to protect it. Why try and make your own mix of anything when you can buy it at the auto parts store and the bottle even tells you how much to add. Also I will try and find it again but report...
Here is the way it is done using a cut down hub or something that is made to hold the cross in place. My .02 Steve's way takes wear of the parts into thought and we can feel the 10 to 20 thousands min. clearance. Also easy way to understand what we are looking for if you have never set up a...
Since I am not a chemist I am not going to add chemicals to my fuel that are not designed to be there. Ok all you want to add is new motor oil or two stroke. Fine but they do not cover everything we need as in to raise cetane, water dispersants, fuel stabilizers, rust inhibitors and last...
K.I.S.S. first a short ride and then feeling the drum not the hub will tell you if the brakes are sticking. Then we get into our hubs. Most of us have the tools / cut off hub so when we remove the hub to check outer set up and inner greased bearings so we can put it back together right. So at...
Yea I found that trap door thing but did not post about it. What mine did with the door open was it started and ran for awhile then it would burp one time black smoke then run like nothing happened. Then same thing burp and run fine as long as it was running door open. I did not like it doing...
I have a Honda 3k inverter that I bought for the 373 trailer and used it last time power was out at the house. I use the Honda at night for the trailer heat or AC and TV and fridge during the day. Runs everything in the 373 or house just fine that I need. The military unit was just for the well...
Yea if I dry it out with the hair dryer it will restart with no problems all the same day long. When I ran it for 30 mins. it still was fine the same day later on but it is when it sits over night the problem / short starts again. I will take the side panel off one day soon and see if there is...
Bout ready to store it at someone else place and just spring for a propane whole house system. Then I can still live in the house if I loose power and not the military 373 trailer till the power is restored. Before I sold my other property 60 miles away if I lost power at my house I just hook up...
First thing this morning short / shut down. Tried the other OP's hair dryer trick down the inverter through the voltage switch trap door. Maybe 4 mins. and starts no short. Thanks kloppk you were spot on with the problem. I tried with small load running for 30 mins. yesterday with hood closed...
Would think the fix will cost you a couple of bucks lots of sweat. Good learning experience though and the next time it will only take you half the time.
OK told my self I was done with the military Generators. Thanks to Allen years ago he bought all three 10k 5k and 3k. Knowing nothing about generators I did the unthinkable and picked up the 3k inverter from lake butler Fl. the other day. My thought was if I loose power I can still run my well...
On the top of the IP is a large plug screw driver thingy and inside is fine mesh filter with if I remember a magnet built in. Other than the addition of the filter base/ spin on filter that can be added to like Wes said is about as much as I would do. Side note the small filter inside the PT has...
The stock filter head had a pressure relief valve set to open if I remember between 70 / 80 psi. The system still puts out around 60 psi min. to supply the Head so wonder if it was a bad filter as most have a good burst pressure. If the new filter head has any extra ports you could do a...
Yea not worried about mold / mildew trailer stays plugged in and AC set on 78*. How bout a water bed nice for sleeping and I do not have to get out of bed to get a drink of water in the middle of the night.
Yes I do have for that real emergency when got to go NOW and even a cork stopper will not...
Start putting lube on the threads and get it working good and just finger tight till full open or closed. I forget how many complete turns . More than one turn and less than fifty.
