Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

That is why you go with the poly coated stainless steel lines. I do agree the Hydro-boost brakes are nice. I've worked on all the types of brakes out there and everyone has their issues. Personally I have had really good "air-pacs" and don't foresee any problem using them for the next decade or...

    aftermarket m35A2 heater blower motor

I don't think anyone is using the NAPA motor in a vertical position. I bought mine three years ago and it works great !

Oil seal mod. for 3053 input shaft

We do need to figure this out before anyone installs it. I don't want to be stuck in Alaska with a broken transmission !

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

There is a metered orifice in all air compressors. Like I mentioned earlier if you drill it out you will flood the compressor with oil. If I remember right the hole should be 1/16" .

CUCV speedometer does't work and tranny shift problems.

The vacuum modulator is probably going bad. They can be adjusted by removing the vacuum hose and inserting a small straight screwdriver and turning the adjusting screw in or out. To adjust for a high shift point turn the screw out. This should bring the shift point down where it should be.

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

Check the bearing support. Some of these compressors used an external line to the bearing retainer (IHC comes to mind) .There should be a pipe plug there (1/8" NPT) .

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

There is a hole that goes up to the rear main bearing, then it has a drilled crankshaft that feeds the rods and other bearing. The oil does splash around from the rods to get on the cylinder walls. The oil then drains back from the bottom down to the engine oil pan. All compressors have this...

    Water in transmission

No their five speeds too. They just have a deeper first gear.

    Water in transmission

As long as the bearing surfaces are OK then just sandblast the gears and put in new bearings and call it good !

    Looking at a '53 M108 Gasser

What most people don't understand is the cost of just normal maintenance on something like a wrecker. At work we own 7 three axle 120,000 GVW commercial wreckers (one for each base) . They must be ready to go on a moments notice so maintenance is ongoing. One manager once said it took $20,000 a...

    Windshieldframe and Wiper mod

Hey Juergen how did that window seal modification hold up ? It's been a year and a half now ? Still working OK ? I need to replace my seals and if yours worked OK I"ll give it a try.

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

Where the rings ever checked for proper "ring gap" before installation ? I know these where sold as piston and liner "kits" and you would assume they where mated to each liner, but did you actually check them ? If they where too long they could break when heated up during operation.

    Sealing Compound MIL-S-45180

"If it works then don't mess with it" is always a good plan !

Can't get my (heater) hose to stay in the hole

The problem would be finding a vent that would fit in there on the deuce. Also you must split the air-flow for both windows so you would never get the passenger side to do much as most air would go on the drivers side. Stay with the factory hoses.
