What were you doing when that happened?
I've seen here on SS guys take a large, heavy gauge flat washer and just weld it in the center.
Looks pretty good when painted.
Also have seen a large Grade 8 bolt welded across to prevent rod from popping off rubber.
Worked fine, doesn't look very...
I think about this thread topic every time I drive my M925A2.
They all look great so I think I will work on a retention method instead of replacement.
Heavy gauge flat washer welded in center most likely. There isn't much lateral force on these so that should be fine.
I've seen several...
Buy a ACDELCO or Delphi pump.
The pump is not fun to change. It's not hard, just a PITA.
I used a pump the parts store had in stock just to get engine going initially.
Typical no name china junk.
Pump lasted a whole two weeks.
Replaced it with ACDelco and it's been trouble free for almost...
Where are you tapping into the engine for the pressure reading?
You might try a different location (oil sample port) and see if any difference.
Agree on new quantity gauge. ISSPRO, VDO, AutoMeter are all great gauges.
Sounds like your putting off the inevitable though.
Total rebuild.
I had the same issue with one of my Axles.
Assuming your seal has a spring, remove spring and find where it's joined together.
Unscrew it and using a small set of wire cutters, Snip off about three coils of spring from the end.
Rescrew the spring back together and place back on seal and...
Unless you want to replace other parts in the near future, get out and unlock hubs!
Your Turing all thst metal for nothing.
Fuel mileage will suffer as mentioned and your putting additional wear and tear on those components when it's not needed.
Your wallet will thank you for it.
Recommend you ditch the stock alternator and upgrade.
The original ones are notorious for frying and taking out other electrical components with it.
Found out all that the hard and expensive way.
Belt tensioner is easy to find. On eBay also.
Go OEM or Gates makes a good one. Part number...
The registration number and the pioneer tool rack indicates it is a former USMC truck.
I believe, that makes it even harder to establish what the last unit was that used it.
Unless your head gasket failed as you pulled into the wash bay, no water from the car wash will affect anything hydraulically. Steaming hot water on a hot engine will not cause shock issues.
Sure you can douse the alternators and screw those up.
Put the nozzle of the high pressure spray right...
I have a NOS GM set of injection lines as spares.
Looks like a plain steel injection line inside to me.
This isnt the first time I've heard about "glass" inside.
Looking at the new lines I just don't see it.
