    New Owner: 1967 M109 - Oh BOY!

If the wheel cylinders are rebuildable then do it. Get your parts from NAPA as the stuff from most sites is crap made in China and they don't last long at all. The wheel cylinder seals can be bought separately. There is usually no need to replace the springs unless they are rusted and the dust...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That's where one set of chains is better then none ! You can always buy the others later.

    Meet Mr Rusty

The Isuzus diesel engine is one of the best if not "the" best car diesel out there (Mercedes is still probably number one) . My good buddy who is also a Master Mechanic and 3 others at the transit dept who work with me, also own the Isuzus diesels in trucks. They all swear by them and most have...

    MEP-002A Injector Gaskets

I'm in the process of cleaning and checking all my injectors and I will need to replace all the copper seals and gaskets. Does anyone know who has the best deal on MEP-002A and MEP-003A injector gaskets ? Also does anyone know who sells the AMBAC "TSE 773" (NSN#2910-00-448-0197) injector...

Alternater Output under 20Volts - Suggestions?

Nothing wrong bringing back a good thread. After I had finished ready all the old threads a few years ago I would see new questions that had been answered years ago and then buried by lack of use. Especially between 2008 - 2010. There was a lot of good information given then.

    Brake shoes

Remember don't breathe in any of that dust ! The asbestos industry got the EPA to reverse the ban on using asbestos in brakes and clutches about 10 years ago. You don't hear about it much but it's back in there.

M109a4 /a3: Reducing rpms, gaining speed / tranny / gearing solution & crowd sourcin

The only difference between the MT653 and the MT643 is the low reverse clutch pack as the 653 is a 5 speed and the 643 is a 4 speed. The clutch adds to the extra length. Both can come with a SAE 2 or 3 bellhousing . It is NOT a discontinued transmission. Both have lock-up torque converters and...

M109a4 /a3: Reducing rpms, gaining speed / tranny / gearing solution & crowd sourcin

The MT643 is way to long for this application. They are meant for the 5 tons.

    Mep016a/d fuel filter

There should just be a large rubber gasket sealing this. You can make up your own really easy.

did USMC ever use the M35A2

I could never figure out why we where always underfunded ! Did they purposely do it to build up our scrounging skills ? I just remember that when I made E-5 (Sargent) I was introduced to the "hidden" cache of supplies for the Motor "T" unit. These supplies where for emergencies only. I asked...

Do we have an official Bobbed Deuce picture thread? If not, here it is! Post em!

That's just "Awesome" !!! How did you run your torque rods ? I can see how the first and last axles would work, but the center axle would have to float between the two. How did you do it ? Need lots of pictures !

    MEP-003a regulator upgrade.

I'm a firm believer in having spares on hand. Triple Jims voltage regulator is top notch and like they say "you never know" !

    Receiver Hitch for bobbed Deuce.

I actually have a 30ft trailer from the Navy that was used as a mobile hearing tester. It has a 2-5/16" ball hitch so the pintle hitch would not work towing this thing. So actually it is a Military trailer just with the ball hitch.

did USMC ever use the M35A2

That's right. Thief's where usually taught a "rough" lesson ! Of course it is "not" stealing if it's from Uncle Sugar ! I always loved going to the Army's personnel store. They had the best stuff ! Poncho liners ! Brand new !!! Of course the guys back at the barracks might get sticky fingers...
