Nice! Really nice.
Glad to hear that your repair went smoothly!
It really is amazing how much more exciting it is when the truck runs like it should.
.
Absolutely @kendelrio !
It took me a while, but there is nothing like having a meter and knowing how to use it. That takes you to a whole new level of playing the game. They take you from binary Yes / No answers to "maybe" but with a "why"built into that answer.
I really like your PFM...

Northern Tool has what they call "22 Ton Jackstands".
They also seem to have several other heavier duty pieces as well.
In my humble opinon:
Whatever IDIOT started describing a set of two stands at its combined weight should be taken out back and shot.

It is Fairly IMPORTANT for you to not kill the Linemen working to repair your electrical service. If you plug your generator into your panel box (breaker box) up at the top - where the service comes in from the road - you will be powering everything on that line in every direction.
Right now...

So, if the problem really is a grounding issue a good way to troubleshoot that is with a length of 14 gauge wire. Maybe about as long as your truck... Take that piece of wire and go directly to one of the ground posts. Preferably the one that attaches to the truck frame. You can attach it...

Ouch! Yes sir, I have to agree that the same money almost for the gasket seems high. It may that I'm just talking aimlessly, but you would think that a piece of rubber might be less expensive than a piece of glass.
I bought some rubber gaskets from one of our members here for my M936...

Claims to be a BOLT,FINNED NECK
Hat to admit ignorance, but FINDING some place that will sell the actual part - not so much. Mostly because when you request a quote on the NSN sites, they don't really give a flip about selling you a dozen of...

Gallons of oil stop leak... WOW. I can't imagine - and why the lies.
Nobody bought that much stop leak and forgot about it.
Somehow I imagine a special place in hell for people like that.

I have seen a few trucks setup with marker lights for cab lighting.
Lenses come in clear, amber and red.
'Course that isn't the military standard.
Have seen the mil-spec version for a little over a hundred bucks.

Still looks like there is a lot of paint. Maybe the rest of the numbers are there too?
Maybe some paint remover and then hit it with some primer so it doesn't rust.
OR maybe you leave it alone so the DMV inspector can find the rest of the serial - or be satisfied with what you found.
.
There should be a common ground for the truck near the parking brake.
Should be a couple of round (ring terminals) attached to a bolt attached to the truck sheetmetal.
Somewhat under the dash...
Don't know if you could see it or not, but the green light on the switch should be on too when...

I am with you! Yes sir, things that I did as a youngster sound like some of yours. Best thing I have done recently since I work in the back yard has been the addition of a couple of thick pieces of big cardboard. I can slide on that easier than dirt or concrete.
Thinking seriously about...
.
I am sure we can grab the TM and find a switched power wire under the dash.
My opinion FWIW would be to feed that pump with a dedicated wire out of the battery box, into a fuse or circuit breaker, up to a switch, then out of the firewall. Everything in some wire loom and secured neatly. Being...

Good for you and good for your truck too! Glad to hear that everything worked out well.
You are right on the money with your point about fixing your own stuff. Nobody will ever care as much about your stuff as you! Don't know how the weather is where you are - but the heat lately has been...
