Grease will make it happy
Had two that were a bear to roll up.
Took apart and it looked like it hadn't seen grease in decades.
Cleaned and greased and still working like new.
The site manager will usually work with you on the pickup allowing extra time.
Every one so far has granted extra time if I needed it.
With the exception of one 5 ton, I've recovered everything myself.
They all went for well over 200k.
The acquisition price isn't the expensive part at all. That's cheap.
The real cost is making it airworthy and able to pass all the inspections.
When one, just one rotor blade is over $90k. Not one set. One out of 6 (for the 47hook anyway)
List is endless...
But it is the brains of the system.
The Glow Plug Controller Card determines everything.
It does rely on the temp sensor for GP activation, etc.
Determines afterglow. How many, etc.
Without the card......good luck.
I still recommend putting it back to stock.
Your not restoring, just...
You've posted those pics before in another thread.
I just need to see a truck with a set installed in person.
That's just me.
They have a heated version now, but it doesn't snow enough here for a set.
I'm close. Just need eyes on before I drop almost $400 a set on them. Need three sets.

They don't understand the system and keep up with maintenance.
Next thing you know, it's not starting/running anymore.
Now their selling it and just want gone. Hoping it will start to get it out the door...
I was lucky and my first M1008A1 had a brand new GM dash wiring harness sorta installed.
No issues at all with running fan and headlights, etc.
Agree the new wiring and very tight fuses allow this.
Im still deciding about pulling the trigger on a set(s) of Truck-Lite LED headlights.
Have...
Remember
Their not making any more of them.
As your finding out......good ones are getting harder to find.
I will be buying two more.
It might take me a year to find them, but I will.
Don't give up. Good luck.
Open it up to see if that's the problem.
Could be something else.
As noted, very easy to clean up and apply new grease and install then test.
Agree about the Autos. Stay manual
That is a part you do not want failing at the wrong time.
But find out exactly what the issue is first.
Perfect.
When stock alternator smoked (literally) it took out my ABS Module and PCB.
Didn't know about CTIS
Now I know why it's been acting up.
Still works but acting weird.
Now in market for new CTIS controller.
I would have a MTVR tomorrow if they were selling them.
I have yet to find pics of the dash setup.
Have heard that those trucks are doing extremely well in the field.
Haven't seen a Navy version yet. If there's any difference.
I do like how the Marine Corps will take what they have and...
