I took mine apart and put heat shrink on the individual cables. Its an ugly blue, but it protects well and I got the spool of shrink for like $5. Way cheaper then letting UV eat up $$$ wire insulation!

If someone could wrestle the block out by hand, it can't be that heavy. Pull the wheels off and block the bumper up so its as close to the ground as possible. Rent a normal to large size motor puller and take it out like any other motor.
You can borrow mine when you need it.
There is another style blood cooler that is smaller and thermo-electric. That means they have no moving parts! They run on very little current and can still hold a case of beer. Cool stuff for sure.
Butyl rubber is what I was told when I was looking into windshields.
Silicone will draw moisture and rot the metal frames, the rubber will not. (From what ive been told)
