Phil, question for you, the CUCV Wikipedia article claims that CUCV-II's "are basic 3500 SRW trucks that were originally built as white in color with gray vinyl interiors" then moved to a different assembly area where they were painted green and militarized. Is there any truth to the "painted...
Did you tell them the truck's GVWR was less than 26,001 or the true value of 42,000 lbs? Or GCVWR of 57,600 lbs? That has a lot to do with the answer you will get.
Is this for real??? I have never heard this before. I've got those on my 1037, so basically don't ever run flat on them? I installed the little bag of slime back when I mounted them.
How about NASA's Michoud facility in New Orleans, 43 acres air conditioned under one roof. Last time I checked we no longer manufacture Space Shuttle tanks or any space craft. Park the MRAPs in there, put them up on blocks, remove the 6TL's, and fuel stabilize them. If they are anything like...
Here is the pic of the Caymens getting the axe. This place is called Torres Metal Recycling on Hwy 36 in Sealy. Someone should go by there, I bet they will sell you the 395's!!! Actually these trucks are from the scrap contract at RRAD (Hooks). It is just coincidence that Torres is just a mile...
If the truck is not leaking air from anywhere, check the discharge valve at the bottom of the AD-2 dryer. A leak there will cause the compressor to work partially and run and run.
The compressor has a cut out just like any other truck.
The ignition wires on the M151 are about 12" shorter than the M38A1. The coil is the same. Not the ignitor. The wires for the M151 are still available surplus. Not so with the M38A1, the surplus ones are long gone and the Jeep dealers have to order them from current manufacturers. ($$$)
I would buy it. The engine is the popular Hercules JXD, lots of parts around for those. Have the harnesses duplicated by Vintage Wiring of Maine. All the brake components can be stainless relined if shot. A nice handy good looking truck.
Yes, very much. The mirror pictures that you took at Ft Hood 8) help a lot. Info on all the special cab interior brackets (GPS, Chemical, Laptop) would be great. Also, OVM that you guys typically carry.
