The M870 is an option, but you will need a behind the cab winch to raise the gooseneck after frontloading. 870's are quite hard to find and are usually somewhat parted out when purchased from GL. Most any civi lowboy will couple to the 931, you might have to crank the legs up some. Don't plan...
Looking at the pics, that is a really nice CCKW. My '42 had the back of the frame cut off as well, it is not hard to fix, just need a donor truck. But for ease of maneuvering around, your set up is perfect.
After thinking about it, it makes sense why the Blazers were not widely converted to this config. Take a Blazer, remove the top, add larger wheels, a fold down windshield, and wala you got a HMMWV.
The deep sump pan was developed because the oil pickup on the shallow pan would suck air on steep grades. As far as oil filters, you cant beat the Military Senior Filter and the C-31 element that goes in it. The correct air filter is the oil bath one that mounts on top of the carb. The clamp...
For top coat I am using Sherwin Williams Kem Lustral F65B50 Wrought Iron Flat Black, sprays great and is the same flatness as CARC. Krylon ultra flat black aerosol touches it up nice.
Careful you get all the sand out of the frame rails or bad rust can happen.
I think it might be an A4. Need more pics of the engine area.
Edit: I count 79 shoes, an A4 had 83 shoes. So A3.
Edit 2: Now I believe A2 based on rear plate.
Wow, those kinds of finds are almost unheard of these days. Word of advice, be very careful around the penetrations, the shards can and will cut you severely, ask me how I know. Grind/burn them off as soon as you can, meanwhile keep the spectators away.
Yup, my title says "HARS" short for Harsco. I don't remember if the mfgr was in the RTS software dropdown or if the tax office girl had to force enter it.
Search the net for "CDL Truck Rental" in your area. These services will make sure you are ready for the test and provide the approprate truck for a reasonable fee.
Well these are all sold now. The first is some kind of electronics van, what makes it unusual is how low to the ground it is. The military has always had high profile trailers to clear off road obstacles, not sure what they were thinking on this. Made me think of a horse trailer. It has FMTV...
I move a lot of furniture and major appliances, and I cannot think of a worse trailer to use for this than ANY military trailer. I have a crappy single axle 5x10 with rear fold down ramp that I bought for $200. It has been all over the US already, and makes moving stuff a breeze with hand...
Unless you plan to go swimming, you can omit or reuse the huge drum o-ring. Otherwise bring one to your local o-ring suppliers and get them to order some for you. Mc Master Carr has large id O-rings too.
