You didn't. I answered that on page 4 of this thread. Carnac provided a registration number for a different M151, it starts with N. It is the mil equivalent to a licence plate.
Sweet setup! Whose package unit did you use? And were you able to find the flex duct commercially? I have tried mobile home duct and it looked like crap. 2.5 tons should be just right for the 16x16 tent.
Might as well get it all in one place, wires and plugs are available from all the big dealers, Vintage Power Wagons, Midwest Military, Memphis Equipment, others. Get ready for some sticker shock on the total.
Because if you cobble up something and it fails while one of your Focus-driving firefighters is driving it, and it tumbles down a hill and all aboard are killed, you will have a lot of explaining to do in court.
You cannot use fiber core plug wires doing like you are, they need to be stranded copper conductor. These are not available at usual auto parts supply houses anymore.
Set the plugs next to the holes you believe they belong in. Crank the motor and put your finger over the holes one by one. Make sure your finger is blown off the hole at the same time the plug for that hole is sparking.
Anti freeze checked '89? Yours got lucky, at that point, all the surplused M151's were getting the full crush treatment. Can you locate the army registration number, stencilled in black anywhere? If not, you may find this number under coats of paint on the side of the hood. This likely is...
If you are worried about the brakes, you can replace the original system end to end with new parts. Simple task and not very expensive either. The stock system works great in my opinion, even with a heavy load.
90 mph at 2800 rpms, now that's my kind of military truck! So basically an oil filter, a relay and a bottle of Armor All and you've got a darn sweet truck.
Easley's Wrecker from Lufkin will do a great job moving it for you with a Landoll trailer. They know all about transporting military trucks. Probably run you a grand. Otherwise, you can do repairs outside the DRMO gate if you feel lucky.
What is the brand/type for this rubberized roof coating? I have seen the roofers use it from 5 gallon buckets over metal roofing, but I never paid much attention to it. I think it has ceramic material in it if I remember. How many gallons does the 146 roof need?
Agreed. This is not a sustainable business model. Once the 900 series 5 tons trickle out, we are looking at a long dry spell of large scale tactical vehicle purges.
