Counter-clockwise. Soak in WD-40 or something like that. I use a pair of big ole pipe wrenches to break the outer sheave loose if the special wrench won't do the job.
M104's did not last perpetually in the system (like the 105's), they would have been on the way out when camo paint schemes came out in the 1970's. So the correct factory color is 24087. M35/A1/A2 would have pulled them along with the GMC's. My understanding is the front tailgate is there so...
That thing is aluminum tube??? The tube looks a lot thinner than a steel medium tow bar, and the military bends those up on a regular basis. Thanks so much for the safety warning, I will stay away from these.
Should just come back to life as is. If the excite wire is truly burned, that is not a good sign. Most of the time the rubber insulated wire from 1970's vehicles has not crumbled like it has on the 1950's vehicles.
Exactly. This is what nice deuces looked like when they were surplused in the 1980's. Vinyl tops, air shift, and turbos were few and far between. Most of the time they came from cannibalization points and you had to reassemble one from several.
Cool. I would try to flake it off with a plastic pointed object such as an electronics probe. Using chemicals will lift the black paint from the metal plate.
Vincent,
1. Don't post Craigslist links
2. Put your location, not just your country
Otherwise,
the truck is a very good price and looks to be in very good shape. If you search here you will find that gear changes do not help much with MPG. Also be advised that there are restrictions on...
Here's a pic of the compressor mount kit for the 855 Cummins. Thanks to Reb87 for sniffing out the p/n. The local Red Dot dealer could not source the mil p/n's. By the way, for those of you not near a Red Dot dealer, the local dealer in Houston is set up to sell you Red Dot parts via phone and...
Silicone (DOT 5) works great in M37's. Start with new/rebuilt master and wheel cyls and blow out the lines. Will be the last time you work on the hydraulic system in your lifetime.
Looks real good in the pics, I would have bid that on it. We all have made a questionable purchase in our lives. The push to start/push to glow mod that gets done a lot in civilian use it really not that big a deal. I suspect you may be faced with an injection pump overhaul, will add another...
You have the wiring diagram??? The truck uses the series-parallel switch to combine two 6 volt batteries to 12 for starting, then reconnects them in series for charging and operation. If the cables are not marked, trace them out to the series-parallel switch terminals.
Welcome to Steelsoldiers. Trailer looks perfect. You might get $1200 per generator, but that is optimistic. Maybe wait until a hurricane hits? If you plan to replace the axle with one to match your tow vehicle, I would be interested in buying it.
