I have to agree with DieselAddict and Dieselmeister .
DieselMeister has several really good and valid points.
DieselAddict's point for asking for a video will let us see what you see.
Startup amperage (draw) for an air conditioning unit is quite often twice the load of it running with...

More pictures please? I don't own a HMMWV but could definitely enjoy seeing a DuraMax tucked under the hood, and the motor mounting arrangements. Maybe from the bottom too showing what you did to get the power to the ground?
Inquiring Minds want to know...?

That's Cool!
Even more so if I had the Jump Box and a 35k or 60k space heater.
Simple civilians called them a torpedo or bullet heater. ;-)
Most likely I would choke when I got a price - but it really is a neat idea!

You would be amazed at the improvement in ride quality with those new pieces of rubber in place.
I kept hoping, but wrenches wuz it!
I imagine at the factory, the problem solved before the cab was attached to the tilt mechanism.
Just guessing though...

I was in agreement until I finally started trying to replace the "biscuits" on my M1089 wrecker. Your directions and the videos are right for more than 90% of the LMTV / MTV trucks. I have not found a video for a truck with a winch and replacing those "biscuits". There is no way to get a...

My M1088 came without a winch. One of the guys here on SS had a frame only truck left sitting in his yard. We made a deal and he even hauled to to my place for me. I affixed the tank and winch to the truck. Disassembled the roller fairleads and cleaned and greased them and one by one...

There are folks that know more about that than I do, but with a hydraulic pump attached to the PTO that is attached to the transmission you can do a LOT of things. The pole trucks that service the power grid in your town and a hundred other of vehicles with hydraulics can really "do magic"...

I was really impressed just by reading the website @ ClassicHeads.com where everything tucks inside the distributor. I definitely need to investigate that possibility. For sure, I don't think I will achieve "show car status" but inside and protected electronic ignition seems like a really...

Very observant Grasshopper!
I was trying to save up something for another day, but yes sir you are right.
She is a slightly older MK1/2. three man version.

If you see the word CARC on the truck (generally those four letters and a date) possibly on the inside of a door it is "special". CARC is Chemical Agent Resistant Coating. You should not sand it. OR maybe I should say don't sand it without a respirator. The Department of Veterans Affairs...

Wow! Thanks teletech !
Lots of good information. I am definitely stumbling along and learning as we go for sure. Son is in on this project too, so we can both stand there and look at it when things aren't as we expect. :) It was last being driven about two years ago. Lots of stories like...

Toy Time
Got after it with a pressure washer to knock off some of the loose paint.
Funny that it wasn't rusty until I did that...
It will get better looking without a lot of effort (I hope - I think).
.
Nice! Bet the kids had a heck of a time with your truck. That is something they will remember forever too.
Toys with lifting capability... That is hard to beat - and a lot easier than huffing and puffing and grunting to move stuff.
.
Nothing to say but WOW.
Okay, something else:
I too would be thrilled to have just about ANY of those toys fall off in the bushes near my place! I even have a really nice grade crossing about a thousand yards up the road. Two tracks and a really nice spur that the concrete plant uses to...
.
Proud to say I have not touched the screws on the points. I am almost "bent" on getting it to run with the parts in place as they are "without my help". THANK YOU for the book pages! I just printed them a few minutes ago and I hope to have time to spend some quality time before it gets hot...
