    M416 Tail Light Bulb Conversion

. Hi Chris, Welcome to the site! Some of those plastic buckets are a little cheezy, but with low heat output from LED's they aren't awful. Chances are good that if you show up at the parts house with the bulbs you are using, they should be able to fix you up with the rignt LED's to fit...

Was looking for a shop in or near Milwaukee to work on M1008; then did it all myself!

. Good Deal! Sounds like you have the right tools for sure. Hicks suggestion to use a big screwdriver or a pick will work to remove the seal for sure as well. Heck, when I have had nothing else, a claw hammer has done the job too.

Was looking for a shop in or near Milwaukee to work on M1008; then did it all myself!

. I am sure that there is a nicer way to describe it, but I have a tool that has always been called a "two speed nose picker". Snagged a picture off the web and it is below. Just know - you are removing it. Seal won't (most likely) come out whole... Need to carefully clean the timing cover...

    HELMET TOP LATCH

. So, their website seems to be more marketing than selling and chances are (from a quick look by me) maybe they only sell through distributors? Their 58L Series latches seem to be listed as manufactured by Jet-Tek and they offer up a phone and email: Jet-Tek 12075 34th St. N Suite A St...

    Look who's coming to stay!

. Wow! Yes! A sign like that would be a pretty fantastic thing to have had. Happy to see your new baby climbing onto the trailer headed for home :)

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

. Seems like a lot of light! So neat. Definitely like the idea of all four on separate switches.

How important are MIL-SPEC gauges to you?

. I don't own a MEP or any of the other power generating hardware. Mil-Spec gauges could definitely be useful in MV's though. My only suggestion is Made in America as a requirement And, for my money a mechanical gauge would be worth having.

. Really nice... Almost looks "Factory Fresh".

    M818 for business

. Hopefully some of the guys will check in with opinions, but I think the Super Singles idea came about because of our involvement in the sandbox wars. Super low pressure in the rear tires in sand had a better chance to "float" on top of the mess you could find yourself in.

    M818 for business

. Without offending anybody, at what point in time do we stop digging a hole in the dirt and getting "more stuck"? Thank goodness for cell phones maybe? (gold shirt, behind the truck under the boom winch) Back in the day, you would have to hike out to find a pay phone or a paved road to get...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

. Wow... So okay, most likely you remember the song "You Light Up My Life" ? Seems like that can be your plan for sure! Don't know what the lumen rating is, but it looks like you will be able to see all four sides of your truck. Being able to turn on just what you need is a big plus in my...

    M818 for business

. Or if you want something to draw attention - the M936 is pretty cool. I seriously doubt you will need the rotator boom on the M936 for pulling a truck out of the mud. The big monster winch on the back should drag whatever you want to pull. And this truck has Ground Spades to dig into the...

    M818 for business

. Not sure how fast the carnival rides travel. Might not even matter so long as you get to the next location. Isn't a very fast mover. The M818 will pull hard. No discussion about a winch and something to hook the "ride tractor" to the MV tractor and by default, the M818 doesn't have a...

How Old Was Your MV When You Got It

My M936 is a 1984. I am not certain, but I think I am the third possibly 4th owner since the Gov auctioned it off. That makes her 37 years old. I could say my truck is just as cute as a button, but that doesn't really compute

Date code location on Goodyear 395/85 20 MVT

. Holy Crap chucky ! If you happen to figure out that the M1095 won't "tow" behind your truck, I would like to have "first right of refusal" if you decide to unload it. Would have thought though that you already have a M1082, so that shouldn't be an issue. Right?

New to Me - Ferrett 1715.12.58 - Plugs and Points (No Spark)

. Hi Ferretboy , So, without manuals, I am only guessing and that isn't especially bad. Just means that you (me in particular) have to work harder to find solid answers. I have bits and pieces, but not an entire book. There is one question I am hoping to find an answer for... Points. Dual...

Date code location on Goodyear 395/85 20 MVT

. If I am not mistaken, chucky has a single axle version of that trailer. That one above is a M1095 Believe the single is a M1082

Stonepicker1 back online. Been off the site for a few years

. Welcome! Thanks for allowing all of us to have toys to play with. Thanks too for having people like you defending our rights and freedoms. Dang shame about the divorce part. Been there, done that. No Fun. If you can keep emotions out of that situation you won't be as miserable. On the...
