It is likely that the number on the glove box data plate will not match the frame if the Jeep has been rebuilt. The Jeeps were completely disassembled and reassembled without regard to the frame number. Welcome to the site! Check out the G503 site as well.
That is Sam "Bud" Werner's place. He just passed away this year. He was a great collector and parts vendor. I bought lots of stuff from him over the years.
Make a through cut inside the bore with a long metal cutting blade in your Sawzall. Then you can easily pull it out. A slide hammer bearing puller similar to a dent puller will work too.
Thanks for the heads up Capt Pat, she is for sure a ccKw, the banjo front axle is all there. My plans for the truck are this: Disassemble, sandblast and prime the usable parts, and scrap those that are not. Then palletize the parts and put in long term indoor storage. The frame will go...
Google "Warn series 18". They are all over ebay. A good price is a grand. I attached a NATO slave receptacle to it and use the slave cable to power it from the truck's slave receptacle.
It is 18,000 lbs on an empty drum. Has 1/2" cable.
I welded a piece of heavy C-channel between the...

Groundog, you will love this truck - they are so dependable it is nearly unbelievable. I have had mine for 3 years now and have done nothing to it and it just runs and runs. Great score!
That truck will clean up nice! Air Force, maybe got gentle duty? I'm in the doghouse too, stupid GSA property custodian called the house today "come pick up your truck" instead of my cell phone and guess who answered the phone.
Nice trailer! The axle looks to be mfg by Webb and the hub ends with the window are Stemco, available at any heavy duty truck parts house. My 1980 USMC Rodgers lowboy has the same setup, and I was able to source the hub seals as well.
An option is to contact the National D-Day Museum in New Orleans. I know they have the blueprints for everything Higgins Boat built, and they may have built the LCM 8's post war. BTW, welcome to the site. You might try posting on the ships forum over on G503 as well. I'm sure these prints...
Yes!! CARNAC on here will back you into the vin using the registration number. Search "2012 VIN information thread".
Hopefully the axles are Dexters and parts are available commercially?
I've enjoyed eyeballing your trucks for years passing by on my way to and from San Antonio!!
