See if you can open this. This manual was posted before and I copied it to my desktop. I cannot find the post either. Sounds like there is a loose connection somewhere. Look for wires with burned insulation touching the exhaust pipes as well. As a side note, my M1031 came from Alaska, has...
Bighurt, I do not think this is entirely correct. I have read here that people have had to shorten the necks on M870's to use with standard height OTR trucks. Look here at the height difference between the 915 and 916/920.
Anyone needing previews of items at either Texas Forestry Service (GSA)(Lufkin/Hudson) or Hooks (RRAD) please let me know (PM). I'll be at both locations Monday April 25, Tues 26. Sorry I'm already loaded (RRAD) unless the item is no bigger than a pallet footprint. Will need lot number...
Hi Steve, I was guessing the CCKW was yours. This is Franz, remember me from Brent's, I have the SCR399 here in the Houston area. I got hooked on this site a while back and suffice it to say the folks on here have got me more sidetracked than ever. I have several parts CCKWs if you need any...
I am going to Hooks early next week and can help out, except I will be returning to Houston. I can likely find a ride for your items to Austin if you can pick them up at Muster Day. Will the items fit in a compact pickup bed? EDIT: oops, Muster Day already in the rear view . . .
The exploding transfer case issue would certainly be a concern to a fire crew. Knowing that in a life or death situation, if you are in low range, and you have to back out in a hurry, you WILL explode the transfer if you do not shift to high range. That may be hard to remember if you are about...
Your truck (1964) would have been delivered with a LDS427 engine. I wonder why the data plate does not say M275A1, as the M275 is gas. Your data place says "multifuel", so it is the correct original data plate. Your truck is a rare survivor.
The engines in your 211 and 135 are identical, and were for the entire production run. Any engine can be rebuilt, it just may not make economic sense. I would do a major tune-up before I would overhaul anything. Check compression, valve adjustment, etc. Both engines will likely run fine...
Another thought: As you and Ft Sam are both on the I-10 corridor, you might be able to get it hauled for the same as the recovery fuel costs for your pickup both ways, and the deuce driving one way, plus hotels, etc. Try Uship or truckingdeals.com.
Right outside the DRMO fenced yard, there is a scale area with an unused building. I prepped my last deuce for over 2 hours at that spot a few months ago. As long as you don't make a mess, you should be OK. Your deuce came from the Texas National Guard and should be in good shape. The...
Very interesting items, sold in the $3000 range. Looks like a standard FMTV cab with lots of extras. What could someone do with this? I was thinking mount on a civi forward control chassis and make a movie rental out of it. But I refrained from bidding.
WWII Jeep, either a Ford or Willys, kinda hard to see the front crossmember: Tubular is Willys, square is Ford. Where is it so we can a come runnin . . .
$19K for that is a screaming bargain. Only problem is halftracks get big time stuck as well, especially with all the weight on the front wheels. But now you have a winch to extract everything.
