    M34? Parts Help

Wow, you for sure have a M34 there. Not very easy to find, as the cargo beds were usually discarded when the trucks began a civilian life. For the manifold, you will need to call around to all the old school surplus dealers such as White Owl, Memphis Equipment, Southeastern Equipment, and see...

    Battery hook up

I use group 55. It is close to the original size. You will find two cables leading to the battery area. One is the chassis ground and the other leads to the starter switch. Hook the chassis ground cable to the negative post of one battery, then obtain a jumper to go from the positive of...

The Wife is Screamin, For Joy or Pain, I can,t tell

7.50-20 ND Tires are available from WallaceWade.com for (ouch) $236 ea. I can make out the writing on the bed data plate, it says "Hercules Steel Products, Galion, Ohio". That's the military bed. Don't sweat not having the original "stove bolt" 235 Chevy motor. Any subsequent GM inline 6...

The Wife is Screamin, For Joy or Pain, I can,t tell

Sam Werner's phone at Tracy City, TN is 931-592-3601. He can be hard to get a hold of. Can you post a pic of the data plate on the front of the bed? Should say "Galion All Steel" or something like that.

The Wife is Screamin, For Joy or Pain, I can,t tell

Dump bed looks original/correct. I think Sam Werner may have the hood side panels with "CHEVROLET" embossed. Nothing cooler. Very nice find.

    250 comm. shelter

Just remember that somewhere a radio collector is looking high and low for that "junk". I have scoured the earth looking for bits and pieces for my RATT shelters.

    FT. Polk LA. To. MARYLAND

Uh, time out here. Linda and Maxine at Ft Polk GL are as professional as they come and they run a really tight ship, which is greatly appreciated by myself and anyone who has had ever had something pilfered before at a DRMO. DRMO rules are such that you must be escorted at all times. They...

    Possible purchase

Yes. Contact all the surplus dealers, someone will have a carb. There was an upgraded carb kit made available in the 1980's, those are floating around still.

    goldneagle's M52A2 restore thread

Help us out with the color layers: Looks to be 1960's 24087 (factory) covered with strata blue, covered by white, covered by 1980's MERDC green camo?

Nice work! Looks like it was originally equipped wiith the tank.

    Possible purchase

The M54 has the Continental 6602 gasoline engine which has a good reputation. Look out for manifold cracks. It is very expensive to operate due to high fuel consumption, twice that of a diesel.

    Early Days of Halftrack Collecting

I think I might have been at that yard during the Memphis MVPA convention years ago. Southern Parts had the main office/warehouse in Memphis and the other yard that was on the northeast side of town if I recall? They had the motherlode of Stewart and M5 HST road wheels at that location.

    Early Days of Halftrack Collecting

Thanks for posting the pics. The legendary Tommy Hunt I think it was? Back then those half tracks were a tough sell. No such thing as "military vehicle collectors".

    General Lee Euro Farquaad

This will be the fourth identical dually SECM CUCV that uses the old Dodge body I have seen. I wonder if anyone knows if the rear fenders were some kind of kit, and if these trucks started out as single rear wheel and then had the Dually MWO applied? Nice truck by the way!
