Find a M109 that has been parted out. Use the frame and rear axles and body.
Put a pintle hitch on the frame and pull with a deuce.
The 109 body was made to be a mobile shop.
Just my two centavos worth.
Bama Lady is not only the "Green Iron Goddess" she makes a mean
chocolate chip cookie.
She generously allows me to distrubute them at rallys I attend.
Most of them make it to the rally if packaged correctly.
I have an older one than that without the airbags. I pulled it back from Eglin AFB in FL to NE AL with my multi-fuel 5 ton tractor.......it was a slooooooow trip.
I now have a deuce tractor as my prime mover.
I gutted it, replaced the floor, lined it with shelves, sealed all the seams and put a...
I can't think of a better person to sit at the helm of Supply Line.
The publication can only get better through his efforts.
David has been a huge help to many of us over the years.
Smooth sailing at the wheel Sir.
We will be bringing "Towdulled" up to the farm in the near future. My neighbor has a large sandblaster (soon to be powered by a surplus deuce engine) that I can use.
With the parts trucks FT and I have the wrecker will be up and running as soon as we can give it our full attention. Once it gets...
David Doyle is our resident expert but has been absent lately.
I believe he may even have a book on the "deuce" either in planning or already in print.
You may try sending him a PM as he is a very busy guy.
Thanks for the kind words.
For the near future I will be recovering trucks for folks if my services are needed.
We have 43 acres to store stuff on and other deuces to keep recovered vehicles company.
Hopefully we will have a covered shed soon to store weather sensitive items.
I also have a butt...
I need an Inter-Vehicular cable for my deuce tractor.
For those not versed in military lingo that is the cable that goes from the tractor to the trailer. It looks like the trailer connection on a 105 trailer except that it has two male ends.
I will buy out right or horse trade parts for said item.
One the last auction that I bought a truck from the pictures were taken at another location and then the trucks were moved to Redstone. Quite a few of the trucks I previewed (yes I preview when possible) were damaged on the right front fender from being lifted by a forklift so the truck hauling...
I was up there today and while I was waiting to get in the holding yard a big rig came in with two pickup trucks on it. I strolled over to check them out while they were on the trailer.
Both had bent driveshafts (one slightly dinged and one FUBAR) the one with the slight ding had the obligatory...
Buggy,
I drove 915's and 916's in the army and the Cat tranny is pretty cool once you learn how to slap shift it up and down. The drawback is that unless you have plenty of air storage it will shift into neutral if the air pressure drops below 80 PSI. Bad news if going downhill with a big...
Thanks for the flowers guys.
That is what Steelsoldiers is all about. MV addicts enabling other MV addicts :).
I suspect most members would do the same if needed.
Unless I obtain gainful employment in the near future I will be available for pickups and to assist however I can.
