Jakob,
His name is John Vara, cell is 770-241-5681
Atlanta phone # is 770-844-7388
Brunswick, Ga # is 912-280-0766
His asking price is $75.00 each....I horse traded for mine.
Last I heard he had plenty.
The bed is just chained on to get it home.
It will be raised slightly and moved forward.
I have to make some adjustments to get it right.
I will make photos as we do the exhaust in case anyone else want to do the same.
I'll be using HUMVEE fording pipes for the stacks.
I decided to do something different with my bob deuce so instead of the 105 bed I had originally planned to use I found a factory built flatbed at my buddy's junkyard.
Since I plan to have dual stack exhaust between the cab and bed I needed something shorter than the 105.
The flatbed is 8x8 and...
Since I have Friday off I am planning to leave the Base Camp around 8 CST and head for Temple, GA, on I-20.
There is a Flying J truck stop there and it would be a good staging area for the assault on Atlanta traffic.
I think Freightrain will be joiining me and maybe Offy.
I have a "CONVOY...
I have been informed that my bolster trailer has two tires that are very dry rotted.
We were planning to haul it to the GA rally loaded with stuff to deliver to fellow SS members and items for sale.
The tire size is errr........ARGHH, I FORGOT aua aua aua
Anyway....if you know the size tire...
I have never had any trouble picking up at GL at Redstone. Last pickup was last month.
I also went to recover a deuce with Offroadfabworks (Darrell) at a National Guard Armory near Redstone.
That one went smooth too.
You might PM him and ask if he can preview something for your.
Maybe somebody up that way is headed to clinto's rally at the end of this month....or see how much shipping would be to 35960.
I can take mine apart and crate it to ship it.
HEY!!!!!That was a perferfectly good authorized Redneck modification. Worked great too...we fired my AK-47 out of it at the local machinegun shoot.
Too bad it is gone now. But I have a ringmount that I am going to put on the bob deuce...has a hardtop so I am looking for ideas too.
Thanks Paper,
If I can find a water pump I'll go ahead and change it just in case.
It would suck to get her back together and then have to do it all over.
I don't have the TM yet...the engine is out of the truck and it is a lot easier to do all this now before we drop it back in.
Maybe I can download it if I can find the info ( I am old and puter deficient)
Whiile we're on the subject of the 250 Cummins...how do you install the belt that goes from the big pulley to the water pump.......no way to adjust or get the pulleys closer together to slip the belt on...this is making me :cookoo: aua
I took the pulley off the water pump using a pulley...
You say that like................it's a bad thing.
I was bringing the M52 back from Decatur a while back and I had a little extra used motor oil in the fuel tank.
Once when I was pulling a loooooong steep hill I let her lug a little and put a real dense smoke screen out the stack...
Unless my failing memory is mistaken I think I remember a thread that showed how to use a tow bar on a winch truck to lift heavy objects such as engines.
If someone could provide a link I would be greatful.
I got a couple of HUMVEE fording kit exhaust pipes that I am going to have made into dual stacks that will go in the space between my factory built flatbed and the cab.
I'll post pics when it is done.
Must have set for bob deuce!!!!!!!!!!
I think Offy is right......the rims on front should be mounted opposite of the rears.....unless I am missing something.
