Brake shoe adjustment driving me crazy

I remember the days when the mobile brake van came to the shop and turned the drums and arc the new shoes. For those who don't know arc the shoes is pre removing some brake shoe material from it so as the shoe seats better on the drum when new shoes are put on. If you don't arc the shoe the...

    Pressure relief valve

That looks like PPV but the # 20 fitting should not be there. The PPV comes off the wet tank and piped to the other tanks. You can not always use the TM' for the pictures as could have mistakes.

    Pressure relief valve

Post #8 suprman told us how to tell if the PPV valve is bad.

    Pressure relief valve

I don't know what valve you need I just jumped in with that info. The PPV is set for 60lbs on the military if I remember right but a 70 lbs will work just fine. Most pop off are around 125/130 if I remember. Just figure what one you need and get it on line or truck parts place no part # needed...

    Pressure relief valve

Pressure protection valve has two fittings air in and air out easy to figure out. Pressure pop off has no out line it just pops off if pressure goes over set limit. Both can be found on Jbay or truck parts place. I have found the PPV as low as 10 bucks.

One of my rear axles is shifting (?) on the M923A0

Yes the 1600's can be a ruff ride and if out of balance also takes many miles to heat up and relax. I run about 40lbs to get a better ride but when I turn I can feel the tire stick but the side wall give. I just lean to the other side so the truck does not tip over. LOL Also #2 lets see the air...

    FMTV exhaust gas recirculation?

If it was like I said then at start up idle then warm exhaust air would help in subzero temps? If it was for emissions then the EGR would be at all RPM levels.

    FMTV exhaust gas recirculation?

Yep the venture effect would do that.

    FMTV exhaust gas recirculation?

The Deuce A3 Cat motor has a tube a tube from the exhaust pipe to intake. At idle the intake sucks in and running sucks out. Believe as said first EGR to clean it up at Idle. Remove the tube and get a cig and watch the way the smoke goes at Idle or fast idle. Not sure if the MVTV is that way but...

    M35A3 Owners unite

If people read the post's then its clear from my post that Allison ok the MO. Knuckleheads had nothing to do with the MO. Once again Allison OK it. Reread my post #749 as I said well before you that the MO is used in off road trucks because of the high rpm, low ground speed's and heavy...

OK Rusty all the who has the biggest carrier bearings is a moot point. We all know how you get just ask CM Davis. Fact is I too have been a grease monkey most of my life but that was not enough for me as the ADHD will not allow it. Fact 2 is I bet 1/4 of this board can , will or have done...

    2 quarters

First the FDC can only measure the viscosity of the fuels listed on your dash. As many have tried to tell you the FDC has nothing to do with what the motor could burn. The bad idea of the FDC was if you ran the fuels listed then the fuel peddle would always be a the same spot for the different...

    2 quarters

Hear what is being typed! If you can get to the top of the FDC to put two quarters in there you can bypass the FDC. The heater has four small bolts just move it out of the way. It is a no brainer should I keep it and have diesel fuel in my engine oil or bypass.

    M939 cab armor kit

Are the doors the same from the 809 series as the 939. I have that right side door armor that hangs off the door of my 809 and could care less what happens to it. I still can't not do much but if someone wants it come get it.

    Heavy knocking sound. Video included

I do that all the time plus ADHD does not help as the mind is somewhere else when typing.

    Hand Crank Deuce

Funny even trying to think of hand cranking a Deuce. Now we did have air starters on the barges / tugs and a hand pump to charge the tank if shore or Tug air compressor air was not handy.
