BEWARE of Bank of America - now going after MV owners in wiring of money...

I have had a Bank of America since 1991 and no problems. I like they question something that looks funny or an over seas pull on any of my accounts. They also call me from time to time and I don't mind a bit. They have stopped two over seas pulls that were not made by me. The scam guys pulled...

Yes Hyd. oil can reach high temp but that will be before the cooler could reach 300* You would not want Hyd. oil operating at engine oil operating temps. There would be very little heat transference and the trans would fail for sure. Guess I should have stated sump temps. as motor oil runs...

There is nothing wrong with the correct motor oil in a Allison. https://fdlrd.swri.org/Allison/ApprovedFluidsList.aspx?Id=1 Hate to beat the dead horse but here is a Email from Mr. Johnson who was the Fluid engineer for Allison for many years. This is why it pays to stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

To me it was just a warranty thing. When Allison was part of GM they had there GM approved fluid and you would void your warranty if you did not use there product and oil changed at the correct millage. When Allison split from GM the same thing, got to buy GM oil and change at there times or...

I will take my chances with the MO that is in my transmission. Talk is cheap the transmissions are not. I have had not problems with the MO and yes the shifts are harder till she warms up. As said as long as the oil has a C-4 rating Allison said it would work. Just believe that the OP's should...

Yea and motor oil can go to a higher Tem. and not break down. Lighter weight oils can not so from what I have read because of the high engine speeds low ground speeds and heavy loads they decided to run motor oil. Even in any machine the Hyd. oil is half the temp. of the engine oil that is why...

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1325798 Now you can read this and believe them because it is on the web or call your Allison dealer. I have always found if there is not a problem do not make one.

Is the transmission giving you trouble. I talked to the Allison man and he said leave it alone as any kind of switch could cause a problem. If and when there is a problem then on rebuild we make the switch. Call you local Allison man and see what they say because there have been people that...

    Spring brake chamber again

Yea thought that is what I said but I did edit to make it a little clear. That air cage thing is done when we are replacing the service brake diaphragm and as said we have a good parking brake chamber diaphragm. Don't think any hole in the park brake diaphragm will allow this trick. All the ones...

    Spring brake chamber again

I thought SOP was to chock the truck no matter what when we hit the ground. Who knocked over my beer?

    Spring brake chamber again

Just set the key and chamber. If it holds long enough to drink a beer it will hold. Liquid courage can be a good thing and then just like a gun barrel don't point the chamber at anyone or something you like. Keep the Dust cap on the chambers so the keys will slip in with no problem. If the...

    M-813 5 ton won't downshift

Maybe driving it like a race car is the problem. I take my time let the rpm drop and the truck will let you know when to shift down if all is correct with the truck. Not using the clutch on a sycro trans. in my .02 is stupid. If you have never driven a non syncro trans your missing the point.

    Spring brake chamber again

Yes they were up side down do not take a set. As said the pancakes we get are the wrong ones but they work upside down. I called lots of places that might have parts for our Stop- Master off road axles and no correct pancakes. If you take out the original one and place it next to the only ones...

HEMMT Tire - Putting in tubes?

Myself if I went to all the trouble of breaking the tire down to tube I would just get new O ring and clean up the rims and leave the tube out. The advantage of tubeless is if the tire has a small puncture hole then we just run a sheet metal screw in the hole and air it up. You can not repair a...

Trying to start a deuce after 9 years.

Glad you got it running but you failed to check the free play of the fuel control when you removed the shut down cover. That would have stopped the WOT. If it was not stuck but sticky you could have used your finger on the fuel control and shut it down. So we learned that we don't have to bleed...

Is this Lock rim ok to remove from truck?

No not normal they should be even. That ring is sprung. You never pry a ring up only out. Who ever took it apart pried up.
