M34 and M135 wheels were designed to run as singles with rear hub flips. The most tedious part is pulling and reinstalling the wheel studs. They will accommodate up to 12.00-20 tires.
The rotating shaft thru the bellhousing that moves the throwout bearing can bind up if not greased periodically. The Zerks are easily missed when doing so. The same with the pedal shaft that goes thru the frame.

If possible, separate the heavy wire going into the motor and attempt to start.
If the solenoid pulls in OK, there is most likely an internal short in the motor part.

Yes, the pan is removable in situ. You may have to jack the chassis up a bit to have room,
A bottle jack under the front crossmember is the easiest way.
Sometimes the pan gasket adhesive is a real bitch to get loose.

When hooking up a M105 or similar trailer by yourself, a highlift is just about the only thing usable.

Perhaps you might check the routeing of the vacuum & atmosphere lines for the several fording destinations, looking for improper connections.
Also, pull the PCV valve and make sure it isn't plugged.

All the big trucks I've seen over many years had wooden strips (1X4) between the bed and frame.
It was explained to me it allows torsion loads to occur without overly stressing the frame or load.

The easiest and best deal is Gama Goat amber front lenses. They fit the original housings.
