Welcome. You are super lucky that plate was there, most of the time they are missing. The main data plate cluster for the dash is available new old stock (NOS) and a local engraver can engrave your serial number. Year of manufacture should be 1952 though based on that low serial.

Why do you have the 12 volt winch connected to the battery to the front of the truck? It should be connected to the battery to the rear of the truck. The battery that has the negative cable going directly to the frame under the cab.

Welcome Steve. The M38A1 would have carried the same docs in the folder, not much has changed over the years. The binder itself would have been a green one with no camo. A vendor has these on ebay very reasonably. You can post questions about your M38A1 directly in the M38/M38A1 forum.
