Well, I can still keep working on the seal number. I made a decision to just put it back together. The reason for this is that when I came back in yesterday, oil was wicking out and running down the snout of the crank. The oil was coming from between the adapter and crank. So, it is my opinion...
I made an executive decision. No seal. Went in today and found oil seeping out the front between the snout and adapter.
I decided to give the damper a good cleaning. The damper looks like a two piece, rubber style. Meaning, there is a rubber strip between the inner and the outer pieces, BUT...
I also have the superceded TM, TM 9-2805-203-35P, which is -34P in hard copy. These aren't in the SS library as are some others we have, so, when things are done here, I will send them off to Tim and he will do his magic. I really hope that some of these older TM's will help others.
Since the rear of the truck is most of the way complete, I started on the front.
But first, the seal for the swivel joint on the V cable came in. Got that installed, buttoned the throttle arm side up. Fired the beast, let it warm and tried the throttle. Man, that thing is SMOOTH! Next, tried...
The Cage Code tells me it is SKF, that's all I can finger out. I did however do a bit more research. FSN transfers to NSN, which in turn supercedes to 5330-00-912-5141, NIIN 009125141.
Still a dead end.
@Guyfang, I looked for all of the numbers associated with 80201. The description looks like...
I got the front pulled apart in the M62 today, pictures to come in the thread on it, but I figured, since I am 3 belts and and adapter away, might as well do a front seal, IF it still available.
I did some digging, needed TM 9-2805-203-35P. That supercedes to TM 9-2805-203-34P. Found that in...
No, not really. That price is right in line with the price of a 3/4 pin shackle meant for off road use. A 3/4 pin, 4.5ton capacity shackle for lifting is around 50 bucks on the low side.
So, for a vehicle specific shackle with the correct pin and tethered clip, 30 bucks is pretty reasonable.
Same type, most likely different mfgr. Early ones had a round ring, later are what are pictured.
Eastern Surplus has the old style with pins. And they are close to you...
I think that when the throttle is set and the the lever engaged, the RPM drops to around 16-1800 and will hold there regardless of load. That is if the governor is set and not been messed with. I think the one on this truck has been messed with by our NG friends though. The seal wire has been...
Back when I was having issues making hydraulic pressure, I had asked about what I now know it the governor for the crane operation. @msgjd has helped me out in multiple ways, hyd line fittings, pictures of linkages, etc. When I asked about the linkage connected to the governor, he stated that he...
A bit more forward progress yesterday.
I had "repaired" the passenger side clutch cross shaft where the de-clutching linkage attaches a while ago, but after installing the keyed arm, I was concerned that the arm would hit the bellhousing when the clutch was depressed in the cab. Well, it...
So, today was another productive day. Didn't start that way, but was a win at the end! The boom indeed leaks down. First order of business after trying to repair an ultrasonic cleaner, was raising the boom and installing a new seal under the electrical slip.
We got a seal late last Wednesday...
Microsoft has started to do things in their updates that change a jpeg to a jfif. There is a way to change it in the files and there is a program that does the fix for yoy. I don't like messing around in the files, so I just let the program do it.
This has happened for the last 3 updates. I...
Another update on the M62. With the heat, we took a break for a few weeks. Went back last week and fired it, went to use the crane and nothing worked. No legible data plates on the pig, so every time it is go to the -10 and look up how to operate it. Well after an hour of $@&*"n around, reading...
Would anybody be interested in this manual being put in the 5-ton section? I have a hard copy in front of me that is bound with staples. I can take the Staples out and scan it to PDF. Let me know and I can make it happen.
