Went for a little camping, little trail riding, and a little truck repairing. Made it through the day and the drivers front tire spung a slow leak. No problem there and I figure I was done for the day. I was on my way to the tent when I came back by the big mud hole. Lots of people playing...
Got it today and it's in GREAT shape. Haven't got it started yet but I think it will run tomorrow. Not getting fuel to the carb and not turning over with the key but will when I jumper the starter relay. Going to do the ammeter bypass to see if that helps.
Might even keep this one yellow...
Well, I got it running pretty good but after flushing the radiator, it sprung/uncovers a LOT of leaks near the bottom. Took it to the radiator shop where they repaired it. Installed it again, same leaks. Took it back again and he said that he had to close three tubes near the tank but that it...
Well, big red is becoming big green.
I started stripping the red but it uncovered a LOT of bondo and rust. Figured for now, green over the top would suffice.
Looking for new fenders, doors, hood......
While taking off the red, I uncovered the funniest looking cammo job. Looks like they...
Hey there smart HMMWV people. I bought a bunch of these just so I could have a couple. I was listing them as NP208. Someone is correcting me and says they are NP218. Searching on here makes me think he is correct.
They do have the cooling tubes. Any other ID features??
I was told by the guy that installed the 1 ton axle that I should get a 1 ton master cylinder. I was searching the parts stores and it looks like the same part number between the 1 ton and the 1/2 ton.
thanks
Hey there,
Truch is still running like crap. I checked the plugs when I got it and they were nice and gray. Checked them again and they were black. Changed them.
Truck wil fire right up but after warming up it will stall out. I don't think the choke is fully releasing resulting in...
When I was in the military and something broke, you always start troubleshooting the last thing you touched. In this case, it's the passenger side alternator.
It failed at work last week. I drove about 25 miles with it squelling and the gauge in the yellow zone.
Just got the alt rebuilt...
I worked on the new M880 all day today. Got rid of the camper shell. Took it for a ride and it stalled three times at 50 + mph. Didn't like that too much. I think the carb is the problem (already replaced the filter and pump).
It doesn't idle too well and I don't think the choke is working...
Is it ok to dress in woman's clothes???.......
Just kidding, I got the new truck running this morning. Tried to go for a little ride. Put it in drive and hit the gas. It took off FAST!! It was in 4 low. Shifted back to 4 High. (problem #1, took a TON of force to shift the transfer case)...
I thought I had a transmission issue. A couple of times, pulling into my street, it felt like it skipped and caught.
I have a detroit in the rear. What do they do on corners? I have hear they clunk. Maybe that is what I am feeling.....
Yes, I just read a bunch of posts from searching but I still have a few questions.
Bud wrench: It looks like it works with a breaker bar. Is there a square socket that anybody sells for the rear sockets.
One post mentioned the harbor freight 1 inch impact wrench. I am getting that which...
Just won a new M880 last night. This one looks a "little" rough.
I should good at doing the ampmeter bypass by now. Going to try and pick it up this week. Maybe Friday.
Took the deuce to the landfill today. Thought I had a ton of stuff back there. Ended up only being 300 pounds of junk from the garage. Well, the empty weight with me in it was 10520 pounds.
Good new: After the dump, went to get the truck inspected. They said nope, too old. 30 years and older...
We were driving around today looking at land. Saw a trail with mud tracks. Looked down there and saw a truck stuck bad with two trucks trying to pull him out. Looked like fun so we flew home and grabbed the deuce. By the time I got back, nobody was around and I broke one important rule and...
