I hate to ask but does anyone know what spring shims are needed on the rear springs of a lifted M1009 that has a 23-degree driveshaft angle on the rear. Also, the front driveshaft is a stock size with a 19-degree angle. I fear if the vehicle were to bounce it would extend the front shaft past...
I didn't give it the name or buy the vehicle. I have been tasked with bringing this M1009 back to operational condition and doing some of the Voodoo work I usually don't get involved in. But I will do it for others. Right up front before it even came here, I knew it had some hacking done to...
I am new at modern military trailers and learning about the handbrake system. I have 3 of the M1102 trailers and each one has a unique issue with the handbrakes. Most problem I feel are due to lack of maintenance and someone used a vise grips in an attempt to adjust or tighten them. I have a...
Anybody know if there is an applicable TM or parts manual for this trailer chassis? Picture for reference only. No leaf springs is my point of posting the picture. Thank you.
On this HMMWV trailer chassis is it possible to run the 16" GM CUCV pickup wheels. I am going to use the trailer in an applacation that does not require these oversized tires and wheels. I want to get the chassis as low as possible and use the CUCV 16" wheels with 195/75R16 tires.
Question about a quality dash pad. Does anyone know of a good quality replacement dash pad for the CUCV? I have used the Brother's brand and have been disappointed. The OEM was a 1-piece tin underlayment and had the vinyl formed over the single piece. All the replacements I have used and seen...
Does anyone know the length of the E brake cable lengths or the GM part numbers for the discontinued cables. All 3 of them. Please. I am not at my home and need the information. Getting parts is getting ridiculous. Does it have A/C was one of the questions. Yes and AM/FM 8 track I answered. The...
I have posted a hint of this M1009 in the past. this was an M1009 that I was rebuilding and had just started the build by getting the engine running a rebuilt injection pump, transmission and a complete new exhaust system front to back. The exhaust is all stock as is the injection pump. During...
I am currently involved in the repair of an M1009. I do several repairs each year to customers CUCV's. I have decided to post the repairs. This M1009 belongs to a return customer and is in decent condition. It was brought to me with a leaking fuel tank. I was going to make it easy on myself and...
Been a while since I started my hidden treasure. It is a 1984 M1009 with 12,674 miles on it. Been under cover stashed for 20 years. I cleaned it really well and removed everything so it did not sit with dirt and critters living in it. I have it since about 1996 I think. If I had it to over again...
How does one go about sending/exporting a CUCV into Canada from Pennsylvania. And can the man just pay me and leave? I will transfer the title here before he leaves. Will he be able to cross the border from USA to Canada with a full military CUCV? What will I need to do? Any educated answers. No...
I have a whole box of CUCV's I found in my office filing cabinet. I have an office off the master bedroom that I seldom use. I was looking for some of my World War II German items and stumbled across some pictures of CUCV trucks I resurrected from the mid to late 90's. Keep in mind these trucks...
After sitting wrecked in the field for 10 years I am going to pull this M1009 in and tear it down to the bare bones. Body looks great. Some minor rust. I rebuilt this M1009 back in 2006-2007. It was done about 2-3 months and my Son wrecked it in the Marine Reserve parking lot. I trailered it...
I found a filter in a box of CUCV parts I purchased. It has a logo and says 25 microns. It looks like it would fit an oil filter on the 6.2. Is 25 Microns to small for an oil filter? Asking. Don't know thought I would ask. I would like to use it. Don't want to waste it. It is in plastic sealed.
I was looking over my Mule M1009 and noted the V belts on Gen 1 & Gen 2 were a little chewed up. I have had a bit of belt squeal recently. I choose to remove the belts and replace them. They were both at MAX adjustment. Most belts I buy just from the listed CUCV application list are almost at...
Good Morning.
Looking to see if anyone is interested in an Off Road adventure at Rausch Creek Off Road Park this fall.

We are getting together again for a fun day in the sun or rain. Perhaps snow. What ever comes our way. Just testing the waters now and we have not set a...
Recently I have experienced a smell of hot wires. My Mule M1009 is 100% stock. No modifications/bypasses at all to the wiring harness. 9All LED lighting is only non stock electrical). I checked all the obvious things of course. I was under the dash I checked the OEM starter relay all is well at...
