    Starting CCKW Rebuild......Finally

I wish my truck was all done and looked that good. I have a long way to go and just hope I don't run out of energy before it's done. I have most of the parts I need with the exception of cargo racks. Looking like they're going to be tough to find unless I substitute M-series parts.

    Starting CCKW Rebuild......Finally

I'm slowly working on it, mostly during the slow time in the winter. I've gotten the frame and axles cleaned up and painted along with some small components. Life keeps getting in the way but I plan on getting back on it once the weather turns colder.

    Turbo for NHC250 Cummins?

I did run across one M809 series turbo mod, which looks like quite a bit of work. I use the truck to haul heavy equipment on short hauls (no 4-lane travel) and would like to be able to pull a hill at more than 25 mph. Probably easier to trade trucks than do the modification.

    Turbo for NHC250 Cummins?

Did a little internet search to see if anyone has added a turbo to a NHC250 Cummins in a 5-ton M939 series truck but didn't come up with anything. Curios if anyone has ever put together a kit. Is it practical to do, or are there engine limitations that make it a bad idea? My brother did a 302...

    CCKW troop seat/cargo rack pics

I'm looking for some pics of the troop seat & cargo rack hardware for a CCKW. I have an all steel cargo box on a closed cab truck. Trying to figure out what all the parts look like so I know what I'm looking for. Some of the small parts will be easy enough to make but others not so much. If...

    Ben Hur Trailer Landing leg

Does anyone know if the landing leg on a Ben Hur trailer ever had a pnuematic tire? Most all the pictures and manual info I see show a stamped steel "tire" but a few restoration pics and a few parts I've seen advertized have a rubber tire. Was the rubber tire ever used or is that a later...

    CCKW Parts Sources

I started a CCKW-353 closed cab tear down for restoration several yaers ago, then life got in the way. Currently it's bare frame and axles that has been sandblasted and sitting im my shop. I have some of the parts I need but there will be many more. Can anyone give me a few of thier favorite...

    M931 Alternator not charging

The alternator gauge on my M931 seems to work properly and normally reads in the green but I noticed a few days ago that it's reading in the yellow. It's got new batteries and they're fully charged since I keep a solar battery maintainer on it. I checked voltage at the batteries (engine off) and...

    Replacement Air Governor for M931

I noticed that the rear edge of the hood on my M931 has been rubbing the top fitting on the air governor. It's worn quite a bit into the brass fitting and it looks to have hammered on it enought to either bend the fitting or partially strip the threads in the governor body. Not something I...

    Closed cab seat

Has anyone bought a set of the reproduction seat cushions for a closed cab CCKW that I see are available from LWD parts in the Netherlands? Are they good quality?

CCKW top bows / troops seats

Can someone post a few pics of the top bows / troop seats for a CCKW-353? Looking for a few pics to help me identify some parts that I've run across. Better yet, if you've know of any parts for sale I'd be very interested. Thanks

    M931 power steering pump

Does anyone know if you can get seals for the power steering pump on an M939 series truck? My M931 is leaking...not horrible but I'd reseal it if I can find parts......or do I just take it apart, measure up the seals and go to NAPA and find something that will fit?

    Ether can for M939 trucks?

Looked at the wiring diagram again.....sure enough, it shows a "thermal switch" in the ether circuit....I'd overlooked it before.

    Ether can for M939 trucks?

Looked at the P2P software for the M931 wiring.....doesn't seem to have a temp sensor but it does have a pressure switch. From what it says, it monitors fuel pressure to prevent you from triggering the ether whiile the engine is running or cranking.

    Ether can for M939 trucks?

Doesn't have a block heater as I wasn't intending to use it in very cold weather. Interesting to know that there might be a temperature cutout.....I'll have to look at the wiring diagram.

    Ether can for M939 trucks?

Same here....tried checking if I was getting power to the solenoid yesterday but it was out in the field and had trouble with my volt meter. Not so cold yet that it won't start but that could change any time.

    Ether can for M939 trucks?

Is the ether starting fluid can for the M939's the same as older commercial trucks? The one I"m thinking of is the same type of container as a propane torch bottle.
