I never heard of this jeep until I read the original post I would venture a guess that they are m211 axles The stock Willy's axles would not hold up to a 44" tall tire and the stock brakes would have a hard time stopping it. Also unless they widened the axles significantly it would not be able...

Has any one Here installed a 72 CJ-5 Indshield frame and used the factory canvas top ? My main concern is the channel for the canvas has less of a bow ( arc ) to it than the M38a1's .

With perfect springs and you don't mind them rubbing when you turn up into a drive way then yea they fit. Some people will run them this way- I won't ( it tears up you tires and a good Rub will dent your fender.

Yes I did. The problem came from miss reading # 13 I some how came away with it not having a voltage drop when he stated a significant voltage drop. (sorry)
Under the dash to the passenger side of steering column moundet about 1" over frome the steering coloumn bottom cover,is a relay it will have 4 wires going to it red, black, purple and purple with white stripe. That most likley is your problem ,

for 235/85/r16 tire (about 32" tall 8.5" wide you will need 3 3/4 to 4 " of back spacing on a 16" rim to avoid rubbing your leaf springs. Call 4wd parts or national tire and wheel they should be able to set you up with inexspensive rims already in a matte black.
Dodgeman: thanks for the heads up the T-98 I got came with drive lines,floor board, transfer case cross members and oak block spacers for in between the cross member and frame, I was told that was original.
