Cool score on the truck. They are neat and nothing beats a wrecker. However form personal experiance there is nothing more exasperating then trying to hook up to another truck with a m1089 wrecker by yourself. It will try your patients. Make sure you do the resister mod to the engine. The m1089...
I didn't know at first what was wrong. Just that it was smoking and running crappy. I pulled the valve cover and found a bent push rod. Thinking that was the problem I replaced the pushrod and as soon as I started the truck the new one bent. I knew at this point the piston was hitting the valve...
With the loss of my current engine due to an injector sticking open and melting down the piston, my truck is in the process of getting a new engine. I had it picked up Friday before I left Anchorage and while I am gone it will receive a new power plant.
I told my deuce camper on my gooseneck behind my F 450 from Oklahoma to Anchorage Alaska pulling it was fine but stopping was a real pain. just take it slow leave a lot of space between you and the vehicles in front of you and plan your stops ahead.

Just an update. I have been living here in Alaska for 3 months now in the deuce and despite the winter I have stayed warm and happy. Everything is working weel. On a crummy note the number 2 cylinder in the engine is toast due to the injector sticking open and melting it. The engine is...
I'm back. Dang Heath, withas long as I have been gone I would have expected you to have this wrapped up, tested and making money selling kits. Glad to see you are still plugging away at it though. Cant wait till its done so I can get started building one.
I agree with you o everything except the 4R100. I am a powerstroke guy and have destroyed my fair share of 4r100's. The E40D and 4R100 are little more then boat anchors from the factory. Semi reliable behind stock engines but nothing more. In my '99 powerstoke which was lucky if it was making...
Mine gets about 9mpg but is pretty heavy for a Deuce.
Where are you in Alaska? I will be up there in a month. I am headed for Anchorage with my deuce nd I know some other Deuce people there.
