After a very, very long hiatus... I have brought Beulah out of retirement to get her road worthy for the winter... something has happened to the charging system.. i have fresh dom tubing for a custom rear bumper, HID lighting, finish rear disc conversion... and possibly add the long and...
needed to stay away from one rock that destroyed my front yoke... and needed tires with more of an aggressive bite. I cant doo alot of wheel spin that is required... and so most buggies that run up that staircase spin tires to help the momentum...

the 4l80 has the same ratio as the current TM 400 but with the OD.... and it will be Stronger than the 700R4.... So, yes it will be worth it... Another point to remember... you will need a shift controller for the 4L80

ordered new 24v relay for my aircraft landing/ fog lights.... walked around... kicked a tire or 2..... plugged in heater.... gonna try and start it in a while.....
figured out why... after recent alt change out... was charging a bit on the high side.... pulley on Alt#1 is too small... looking to locate the correct one now...
finally did a little trail riding last weekend... shes just a stout as ever.... Still have a fairly decent list of upgrades yet to do.... Getting married, and buying a house... has slowed my build.... way down.... but.. Part of it I guess...

Look at the gear spacing / ratio between the 700r4 and 4l80E... i think you would be better off with the 4l80e... IMHO... i recently picked up one at a scrap yard for $50.00 and its gonna cost 75.00 to have it gone thru...
changed out voltage regulator in Alt 1.... again.... for the 3rd time..... Price 21.95... the chance to be on the 2nd page of this thread on Part 2 the sequel..... Priceless....:naner:
it looks as though from the pic... he's running wheel spacers as well... Notice its a 12b H1 wheel, that's not re-centered. and the hub isn't out as far..
really interested in this setup.... and how it will work on your rig, can you Pm me the model numbers for the front and rear? as I have the same axle setup as you... DUH... nevermind... re read your post...lol I need more coffee... Would still like to know if you have to add more beads....
it was easy.... I recentered axles to wheel wells.. and measured and squared up where the replacement spring perches sat. ( starting at the front perch of rear axle,) This was the most critical part, as if you wind up being off, it will never track or drive straight.. make several measurents...

??? I don't have a 465... I have the original TM400 I'm in the process of gathering parts to install a 4L80... as far as parts go.. I went with the spring perch kit, and flip shakle kit from them... but I also swapped out all 4 Springs with rear 1/2ton truck springs... ( 52" ) google...
