    plese help, I have studied the tech manuals, but this problem is weird. had charging problems, rebuilt both alternators ,replaced batterys, alternaotrs show good output on multimeter. but are overcharging unless i unplug the feild coils. had help rebuilding alts from a tech w/ 20 years...

    had this same problem a while back, finally pulled both alternators and had my buddy who has 20 years expeience repairng alts check them, he found both diode trios bad, he said always replace these. they are cheap, less than 6 bucks, and really good insurance

    sorry I was refering to transmissions, they need to be a certain min temp to work efficiently, never tried to put in an external oil cooler. where would you even find one

    trans cooler I know a bit about transmissions, transmission fluid runs at an average temp coming out of trans of 275 degrees, engine coolant should never be above190. that is why the stock ones work, changing out your stock one could cause your trans to be slow warming up, personaly I would add...

    thanks the more i drive this truck the mori want to drive ti , any suggestions on what might need replacing soon. just rebuilt both alternator due to age the regulators went bad.

    I know someone has asked this question before but I'm new to this forum, what could cause my M1008 to have a slight miss when cold, but goes away after the engine gets warm. bought this truck last year to use as a farm vehicle but now want to fix it up, too nice a truck to beat it up hauling...
