fuel return lines- ok to trim?

I have a fuel leak coming from the fuel return line on the injector - driver side closest to the fire wall. I have ordered new fuel line from ebay to replace them all. Until that arrives, will I do any harm by trimming the offending line? I have read that the length of line is important.

    Flex Plate replacement advice needed

The latest development in my long and annoying saga of starter trouble is the awful grinding noise that has just begun to occur when starting my m1009. I have not yet removed the torque converter cover to inspect the flywheel for damage, but I would not be surprised to find gnarled or missing...

24V Gear Reduction Starter - Need Shim?

My M1009 has a 24v gear reduction starter on it, with the correct GM starter bolts, and the correct GM starter bracket installed. When I installed I did not use any shims. The teeth of bendix and flexplate/ flywheel lined up well, and the truck starts strong. Most of the time. There have been...

    dome light blowing fuse

I installed a 12V dome light today in the cab of the M1009. One wire was going to the fuse box and plugged into the 12V constant plug (2nd row down, between 5 amp B/O marker lights & 20 amp parking/ marker), and the dome light assembly was screwed into the cab of the truck providing the ground...

M1009 with 3/4 ton axles towing capacity?

Ok, I know there are many threads about M1009s and what they can and can not tow. Transmission wouldn't shift into 3rd

I had an interesting experience the other day. I started up my M1009 and left the driveway. I drove about a quarter of a mile before coming to the first stoplight, giving me enough time and distance to get up to the 35mph posted speed limit. Normally, unless a school zone is in effect, this...

    Will a 1988 Blazer top fit M1009?

I found an '88 Blazer top for sale close by with sliding tinted windows. It also has interior lights. I can get it for cheap, but am not sure if it will fit an 84 1009. I know there were a lot of changes done to the Blazers and trucks in 1988 compared to the 87 model, but I haven't been able to...

    Horn Issue

I went to pull-a-part today and grabbed a few parts from a civilian Blazer as well as a couple C/K trucks. One of my finds was a horn. I had noticed that the volume of my horn was inaudible at highway speed and wanted to replace it. The blazer that I pulled from had two horns on it, one on the...

I accidentally joined a convoy the other day.

I was on my way home from work this past sunday afternoon, driving my m1009, and happened upon a military convoy. I assume it was headed to Ft Campbell. There were about 20 or so humvees, some with trailers, a fuel truck, and a couple of larger six wheel trucks. I'm not very good at naming those...

    New M1009 owner in Nashville

Hi all, I picked up my new M1009 last week. I bought it from a guy outside of Louisville, KY who had purchased it from the Univ of Western KY. They had kept it in pretty decent running order. The truck had not been started in a couple of weeks when I got there to check it out. I turned the key...
