    1986 civi c30 questions

Cool truck. I'm going to call the seller this afternoon and make it official. I'm just wondering if it has a posi rear. I didn't crawl under the back end because the guys dumpster was leaking some foul water.

    1986 civi c30 questions

What motor do you have in the gasser? I am going to buy this truck, its only $2500 and in great shape. This will be my 8th square body Chevy. It has a solid 350 in it, so I expect it to pull my trailer better then my m1008. It looks just like the one in your picture.

That is great info. Where did you find that? Do you have the same info but for bumper towing? That is for 5th wheel.

    1986 civi c30 questions

I know this is off topic for the site, but I like the knowledge base here. I am about to buy a 1986 c30 dump. It has a 350 with a 4 speed. Overall its in great condition. I am having trouble finding specs on it, particularly towing capacity. Does anyone here have experience with these trucks? I...

    no power low idle smoke

Have you done anything to it otherwise? Is the lift pump good? Have you switched to a spin on style fuel filter? Is the smoke coming out of each tailpipe equally?

    no power low idle smoke

On top of the IP. There is a piece of rubber fuel line, disconnect it and unscrew the valve with a 9/16 deep socket.

    no power low idle smoke

Its hard to say. What kind symptoms are you dealing with? I broke the glass ball out of mine and it runs and pulls better.

That may be the return valve you are looking at. It takes a 9/16 deep socket. It's a short little valve.

    Flickering Gen 1 light

Yea, they're junk. I had 2 melt the yellow plastic off completely but the fuse didn't blow. I only knew there was a problem because I could smell it burning. The heater still worked fine. I replaced that one and any others with quality fuses.

    M1009 fuel pump

I installed one from a 1990 Chevy with a 6.2. So far so good. I installed it on the frame where the rubber fuel line is. I just took the cover plate off and removed the stock 3/8 rubber line and plumbed the pump with a filter right there. It works great and saves all the cranking on the starter...

    Flickering Gen 1 light

Another thing to consider, check your heater fuse. If its corroded, or a cheap (harbor freight) fuse it can make the gen1 light come on even though the heater is working.

    no power low idle smoke

Well I took the fuel return valve and broke the glass ball out. Now its running perfectly. It was full of rust colored debris. I will source an injection pump asap though because it must be going bad if there's that much crap floating around in there. Hopefully it will hold up for a couple...

    no power low idle smoke

Yes I thought that. I ran it without the air filter and there was no difference. I looked in the intake with a light but I can't see anything out of the ordinary.
