You'll need to schedule an inspection. I tried to do one while there for a pickup, and they weren't willing to let me look. They schedule their staff to stay busy. Call them on Monday with the lot info to see if you can check it out during your pickup.

GM no longer licenses Dexron III. Dex/Merc would be fine. Dexron VI is listed by GM as backward compatible, but is thinner than original Dexron III. I'd use the Dex/Merc myself.
In my personal SUV, I've always found downshifting in 4x4 to be much better at slowing down instead of braking. Not sure if that applies to a diesel HMMWV.
