24v Starter vs 12v Starter
I picked up a M1010 from a city. The city's garage stated it does run. I've trickle charged the batteries. It turns over but won't start. I do wait for the 'Wait' light to go out for the glow plugs. However, the batteries are in parallel (12v) and no longer in series...
If the batteries have been placed into a parallel setup (12v), does the glow plug resistor perform anything? I have a no start situation on a M1010, and the batteries are in parallel. It cranks with a good charge on them. There is only 1 alternator too. I do wait for the 'Wait' light goes out on...
Don't know exactly. I've been through 4-5 M416s and several M101s versions. I tend to flip these things. Recently adding M1102s to the list too. Example, the M1009 Blazer. Had it for a week. Still haven't received title, but its sold.
Once had a 84 M1009 with 26k original miles. Recently sold that.
I've come across (sight unseen) and bought a 85 M1010 with short of 29k original miles. Been told, runs, drives, was in service till August 2013.
